3 Airport Pilihan di Johor Bahru

Not enough seats for passengers to wait during the usual flight delays. Don’t even think of charging any devices here.

Amazingly, the men’s toilet has toilet paper. This alone deserves one star on its own.

This is a small, simple airport primarily serving domestic flights, with a few flights from neighboring countries. Unfortunately, the only cafe in the departure hall has been closed since the pandemic. If you have a lengthy preflight wait, it’s advisable to bring your own food and beverages.

An interesting airport that serves only two airlines. Enjoy walking onto the apron to board the plane.

The airport has one souvenir shop that sells mostly local cookies and foodstuff and a car rental office.

One glance to see the lobby, the Ticketing area, Check in counter and the boarding gates.

Nice and cosy.

  1. Senai International Airport, while on the smaller side, offers a decent travel experience. The departure hall greets you with a few restaurants and merchandise booths, although the choices are somewhat limited. Inside, the options expand slightly with additional shops and a coffee house, although the variety remains modest.

One unique feature stands out – a chai seller peddling tea on a bicycle near the arrival and departure halls. This quaint touch adds a local flavor and the chai is a budget-friendly treat at around RM5.

Navigating the airport is hassle-free due to its size, taking about 15 minutes to walk from one end to the other. However, it’s advisable to arrive early as the check-in counters are few, and the immigration entry to the departure area can be cramped, often resulting in queues during peak hours.

Connecting to the city center may take around 45 minutes, though this time can stretch to 1.5 hours during busy periods. To avoid traffic and ensure a smooth journey, arriving ahead of time is your best bet. While the Senai International Airport might not be expansive, it still manages to deliver a satisfactory travel experience, especially if you plan ahead.

  2. Nice and compact airport. All clean and fresh, although not big one. We came for flight Johor – Jakarta by Trans Nusa

  3. very basic airport, reasonably comfortable, had to walk tarmac to get into the terminal. This meets the bare minimum for an airport, not like terengganu, that’s just sad hahahaha. this Senai airport just slightly better than Avalon airport in Melbourne haha, but roughly that size, but perhaps more stores.

  5. Very easy and straightforward airport. Clean and well maintained with a few selection of shops. However after you go into domestic departures there is nothing much… only a Burger King for food and some shops that don’t really sell anything useful apart from souvenirs and packet junk food snacks. Can be improved… also no seating at all from G4 – G9. People sit on the floor or stand. Several toilets not working.
