2 months agoThe restaurant is big with many seating available however not filled with many customers during our visit on Tuesday. Variety foods, desserts, fruits, and cakes are provided. 70% are local Malaysian dishes. Staff are friendly, and customers’ tables were cleared fast when the plates were empty. Surprisingly, the music heard over the sound system is a Christmas song whereby the community is celebrating Depavali two days ago and decoration in place.5 months agoTried out this place since the hotel breakfast buffet is included in our stay package. The restaurant was spacious and serviced by ample staff. Food was better than most of hotel buffets with self served coffee, tea and juices. I personally like the nasi lemak station as it was well stocked with condiments and curry chicken. Eggs were precooked at the eggs station. Overall, a very good spread of buffet.4 years agoNot too sure about their other buffets, but I can’t say I was impressed with what was offered for their breakfast buffet. Tried most of their egg variants offered. The scrambled eggs were rubbery, the omelette was overcooked and lacked seasoning. The turkey ham was swimming in some sort of broth that looks like their just opened and emptied cans into it. The nasi lemak rice did not have much flavour either. I guess the food could be improved further.5 years agoHi-Tea at Fern Pine Cafe is a good choice for weekend chill and chit chat with old friends. Basically the foods are not disappointed even thought it is not an international buffer. The price is around RM65+ during weekend, not sure for weekdays. Nice view from level 9. You won’t experience of hungry ghost situation and no long queue needed for your foods. Eat without stress. Hahaha. Enjoy!4 months agoSadly, overall experience here was poor. Ate multiple meals here, including breakfast, lunch (buffet) and dinner (buffet). Breakfast: coffee is either brewed coffee (adequate) or Nescafe coffee (gross). Pastries are OK, if not outstanding. Cooked food generally has nasi lemak, salads, rice and a rather sad egg station. Cereals are relatively low quality. Lunch is probably the better part of the offer, with a reasonable number of options, but the food is slow to be topped up, and the desserts are generally very sweet. The quality is overall low e.g. for chendol, they use evaporated milk instead of santan. Dinner (once) was pretty bad – food options limited, everything emptied out quickly because there wasn’t much choice, and nothing was topped up quickly enough. Two stars. If you are staying here, avoid paying for breakfast and walk out; you will do much better.

3 weeks agoThe star of the show for me was the Mee Siam with chicken pieces. The flavours were outstanding, and the chicken was tender and succulent. The balance of spices and the savory notes of the dish left a lasting impression. The fried bee hoon, which complemented the chicken pieces perfectly. The noodles were cooked to perfection, and the combination of textures was a joy to savour. It’s evident that attention to detail is a priority in the kitchen. While the drink I ordered was average, my companions raved about their cups of Coffee Latte, describing them as excellent. The rich aroma and smooth taste left them thoroughly satisfied, making it a must-try for coffee enthusiasts. I couldn’t resist sampling the half-boiled eggs, and I was pleased to find them incredibly fresh. It’s a simple dish, but the quality of the eggs speaks volumes about the commitment to using high-quality ingredients. Service at The Toast is commendable, with a fast and efficient staff that ensures a smooth dining experience. However, it’s worth noting that the queue can build up during peak meal times, so planning accordingly is advisable.a month agoI have been in this area quite a few times and have always noticed this shop for quite a few times. Happen to be in this area again and decide to give this place a try. I was there around 1 pm and the place was relatively crowded. They have both outdoor and indoor seatings. The ordering of food is pretty straightforward. It’s done via the qr code provided on the table. Menu is pretty extensive, from local delights to Western food. I ordered their signature dry mee siam with fried chicken, kaya butter toast and a drink.Food didn’t take long to be ready. The fried mee siam was not bad as it has a pretty strong dried shrimp taste. Fried chicken was nicely marinated. The butter kaya toast was not bad either, nice contrast of the ice cold butter from the hot toast. Paid MYR$19 for my meal.
Overall, I enjoyed the food, and the dining environment was not too bad either. If I am not wrong, they have a few outlets in JB.
a month agoLess crowded than Oriental. We tried the Mee Siam, kaya butter toast, egg mayo toast, peanut butter french toast and kopi.The Mee Siam and chicken pieces were tasty. The kaya butter toast was crispy outside with the inside still soft. However, did not like the egg mayo as it used margarine. The peanut butter toast had generous peanut butter but it was not something I would order again.
The kopi was thick and had flavour.
Service was prompt and attentive.
If you find Oriental Kopi too long a queue, can give Toast a try.
4 weeks agoThe Fried mee Siam is very nice and I loved the Fried chicken wing.The toast is always very nice.
Overall the food here is nice and the price is reasonable.
a month agoNice local eatery serving things like toasted bread, fried rice, kopi and other items.We ordered fried rice kumpong, thai bee hoon and nasi lemak chicken and mee siam. The food was quite good to the palate. The drinks like coffee and fruit juices were quite nice too.
Good for another revisit next time.

First time being to the restaurant for breakfast after reading some positive reviews. So glad that I was not disappointed at all. The restaurant look rustic and bring back old memories, once enter the layouts and decorations with plants, painting, etc are great. The staff bringing you the menu once you sat down and taking the order chit once you done. The food don’t take long to arrived and the presentation and taste are good. Highly recommended place to have their meal there.
Very chill and comfy joint with a good variety of wholesome food on the menu. Enjoyed having breakfast here and the avocado toast is really tasty. Love the greenery and the simple deco.
We didn’t have a reservation but were warmly welcomed nonetheless. Service was attentive and friendly throughout.

Great place to chill, good food not so busy place.
This place deserved better than rating that what it is now. Some reviews were just plain petty complains which doesn’t really reflect the entire cafe quality of service by its staff, good food and great place to chill and relax, you’re not being rush and not very crowded.
Highly recommended place for those who wants to chill, have great coffee, friendly staff, great atmosphere and good food.
PS any Cafe that uses Marshall speakers is good place for me hehe (kidding)
Everything abt the cafe was good. Service was excellent. We had the Eggs Benedict with avocado and ham. Both were perfectly done. The Dare Devil coffee is a must try. Will visit again!
