7 Breakfast Pilihan di Yishun

The choices are fair with majority noodles. There’s Mookata stall at the front operates from afternoon to night, followed by the stall offering local noodles but in vegetarian.

I tried the stall next to it – the roasted delight. I ordered a plate of duck char siew rice ($5). From the picture can tell the portion of meat served is decent but the rice are just half of other normal stall I tried. The sauce is ok and the meat is tender. I found it a bit hard for the char siew, maybe is the part of pork used.

I’ll give a average 3 stars for it.

Ordered lor mee ($5.50) from the tze char stall beside the goreng pisang stall. Food was served to my table quite fast. Quite vinegary but also quite salty. Had fishcake, some fried white fish fillet, sotong (first time having sotong in lor mee), beansprouts and some small prawns, and yellow noodles in a piping hot gravy that held its drinkable consistency even as it cooled down. No lumpy sauce here! Almost burnt myself eating but hey, I like my food temperature really hot. Better than warm / cold food any day.

    1. The chicken rice portion was ridiculously small even after extra chicken and rice – ignored our requests for removal of chicken bone until after we purchased and said ‘she was too busy’. Chicken had more bone than actual meat.

    2. The shop is located in Yishun mrt. It consists of 2 stalls, one which sell chicken rice and another which sell bread. Price of chicken rice is cheap but portion is small. Price of the bread is similar to other bakery but you can get an offer near to the end of the operating hour as they want to clear their bread. It is a good place to dabao your breakfast or buy some bread before you go to work in the morning.

    3. This will be the last time I go to this outlet. Ordered a chicken rice on the menu $4.50 set, gotten more bones than meat. Looks like the shoulder or back of the chicken. Utterly over price! The preparer was a Sabahan or Sarawakian base on his accent.

Then the lady from water cashier walk over and ask for $4.50, I ask if can pay for drinks together, she said cannot, it’s separate. I was like come on man, you could just took the drink money from the chicken rice as I gave you $10, and give me back the balance.

After paying for the chicken rice, I sat down and didn’t go for the drink as I was disgusted by her attitude. Saw her prepared my drink order but f her lah.

    4. Not sure about the other reviews here, but personally this place have been one of my go-to’s especially if you end work late and pass by them. Their food so far have improved for the chicken rice stall, portion for me is just nice for the price. I love their roasted chicken porridge 😀

Bakery side I’ll always get their signature sandwhich, its the best combination ever. I hope their food standards never change ^^
