Best to enjoy Dim Sum and Salted Egg Pau over here. They were scrumptiuos!

This restaurant is located inside Promenade Hotel, so one can enter via the hotel’s entrance or through the side dooe leading to the restaurant. The parking spaces in front of the hotel are also quite a lot, so there’s no issue in parking your vehicles in getting to the restaurant.

Most importantly, for Muslim diners, the food served here is certified Halal.

As a dim sum connoisseur I was pretty disappointed with dynasty. For sure dim sum like har kow and siew Mai is frozen as is even the chickens feet. Not great textures and lack flavor. Service was really terrible also and staff barely acknowledge or make any effort with customers. Spent just over RM 80 for 6 dishes – jasmine tea also had zero flavor. Glad we didn’t order the duck which we were tempted by. Rm 50 for half was expensive and given the quality of everything else, this wouldn’t have been worth it.

We wait around 15 minutes to get served and no one comes to clean the table. We sat near the counter but they just don’t care to entertain us despite I call and raised my hand few times. Is not full house that time so this is unacceptable. Can you imagined, they just walk through you. The serviced very bad, poor and slow. In terms off food, it was good and affordable. Please train your staff properly.

Came to the restaurant without knowing that it is actually a popular spot amongst acquaintances I know.

    1. The Rainbow Garden is a mere pass through neighbourhood, but little did I know, it also held a hidden gem of a restaurant. Tucked away in an unexpected corner, the simple Chinese-style cuisine was a delight to my senses. The flavors were well balanced, and each dish had delicate taste and a gentle sauce that left me craving for more. However, my joy was short-lived as I discovered the “mixed vegetable” dish contained pork – a dish I could not consume.

To add salt to my wound, they did not accept bookings for tables with less than four people. Despite being just the three of us, we had no choice but to wait by the walkway for a table to free up. It didn’t help that the large tables inside were glaringly empty. It almost seemed as though they held a prejudice to provide better service to larger groups. I felt personally offended, but I couldn’t help admiring the way the dimly lit restaurant worked like a well-oiled machine.

There was an unspoken mystery about the staff – their quick turnarounds and well-practiced dance between the tables enhanced my overall experience. Nonetheless, I couldn’t shake off the feeling of being unfairly treated. Was I wrong to expect fairness from a place of service, or was there more to the story than meets the eye? Kiat Lee Restaurant in the Rainbow Garden may have been a secret destination, but it held secrets within that still left me curious.

    2. I gave 5 stars because the food was good and value for money.

The teochew steam fish – garoupa tail was really fresh!! Must try the steam fish if u are here!!!

The special beancurd was also good. I presume it was homemade.

This place is fully booked when I was there for dinner on a Thurs. Remember to reserve a table before u go.

I wanted to order fried noodles but the restaurant did not offer any noodle dishes at all. Not sure why…

    3. Popular neighborhood restaurant. Seems to be a favorite with bigger groups ordering few dishes to share. So try to come earlier for dinner if you want a bigger table. Curry fish you can choose the head or tail. We got the tail as wanting to eat more meat. They use 7 star garoupa. Well after all it’s kk, might as well eat better fish. The curry is not overwhelming for the fish, just the right balance. One bowl of rice easily sapu finish with this dish alone. We also had vege fried with egg, homemade tofu and pork belly salted fish. All tasty.

    4. A nice to have lunch & dinner when you want to eat Chinese food.
Very tasty ? and overall the taste is satisfying.

Only very hard to find parking ?

    5. Recommend by my sister’s friend. As we are figuring where to have our dinner. End up we came here. We asked captain to recommend dish. I would give a thumb up for the steamed fish. It was very fresh and do not have any fishy smell. But might need to wait. As quite pack during dinner hour. Recommend order their fish based dish.
