8 months agoWow, Tong Hing had excelled and evolved into probably the only high-end supermarket in Kota Kinabalu and still impresses me after visiting them for 15+ years now.Their recent renovations have put them at a level where you won’t find cheap products. Over here, it’s quality vs. quantity, and they have a very good range of imported products, especially chocolates and cookies. I’m always happy to visit Tong Hing when I’m in KK.
8 months agoTong Hing is a supermarket located in KK, it offers mostly imported goods. We saw many interesting snacks that are not normal for Malaysia. They also have a tiny cafe serving cakes and pastries. Becareful when you buy imported goods as it might be expired or near to expiring.3 months agoThis supermarket delivery to your hotel! The cafe serve coffee and pastries and cake. This cafe and supermarket are EXPENSIVE because they really important good for you to enjoy. If you been to KL you would say the standard here equivalent to BIG (Plaza Batai) or Hock Choon (Jln Ampang). Highly recommended to enjoy your cup of coffee here but be prepare to pay premium price.5 months agoWe liked the cafe and the various moon cakes currently on offer. They are also well stocked with wines and beers.Do note many of the products are imported so prices are higher. There was a biscuit from the UK that cost 135 ringgit, as well as other imported chocolates.
They do have nice bread and pastries.

a month agoIf you are unable to find certain grocery products elsewhere, try looking them here. This place never let me down. Huge selections of groceries especially the cooking essentials like kicaps and beras. More parking available behind the store.4 months agoImpressive when they said no plastics on weekends and Monday. And said to either purchase a bag or use a box. Unfortunately devastating when i realised that i had to fix the unfolded box myself. How ridiculous that can be if they are more people waiting at the counter and here i go outside to get a box fixed because the staffs who are standing there will not assist you in that? Way better to encourage more people to go plastic free is when they can actually provide the boxes ready for people’s usage instead of leaving scissors and tape outside for people to do themselves!a week agoThere is a car wash and food vendors. For washing outside only rm 8 (saga). I ate laksa and cendol at one of the food vendors. Rm 11.50.4 months agoPlace is well Aircon with loads of parking at the back. A lot of choices for frozen n fresh food. Prices are competitive with good service.2 years agoI understand its the SOP but you can’t have your customers walk all the way back grabbing all the stuff to your car. Raining too?One of rule of business: Make it easy for your customer.
Suggestions: Either put a line between the door to separate entry and exit. Or arrange a worker carry the stuff in the supermarket and pass it in the exit. If follow SOP then adapt it fully and change your system.

The staff are okay and helpful. The boss are extremely rude both husband & wife and they will shout at patrons just like I’ve experienced for choosing the beers “too long” they said which is ridiculous. There’s a neighbouring liquor store next to the auto shop and they’re a few RM cheaper than this premis.
Cheap cartons (x 24), sets (x3) or single cans of beer. Can get beer here that aren’t Heineken or Carlsberg brewed, as well as the usual ones you can get everywhere else. Sells crisps too. That’s about it.
