a week agoA very nice place to spend your time with your family and to gain knowledge.. Try to come here.. Maybe you will like it too..4 months agoI make comparison with National Library Jalan Tun Razak as reference(Because thats the only other library I go in my entire life)1. ENTRANCE PARKING : A bit confusing. i almost doubt the gate entrance. Macam eh, aku sesat ke ?
2. PARKING RATE : Free ❤️❤️❤️
3. LOBBY : Ada section kanak kanak. I tak masuk dalam tu, so cannot review more
4. So utk adult reading section, YOU NEED TO REGISTER TO USE ELECTRICITY ⚡️. WIfi password minta dekat counter.
5. CANNOT BRING BAGS. Diorang masih guna rules lama, tak boleh bawak masuk bag, even if you bring laptops
6. BOOKS: not much of books for references. Tapi utk novel, limited to malay novels. Not much of english novels.
7. Tapi this library complete with discussion room, silent room, which is very very helpful
Would I come back ? No. I would want to explore other library.
a year agoThis place simply forgotten by most of us. We don’t care much about library. Any library. But I think if we do not have any place to go especially in the weekend we can bring our kids here. Its really calm and healing. It a great place to hangout for reading or at least just watching row of books3 weeks agoVarious types of books and daily newspapers are found here. Also, there are a lot of activities being carried out here. The librarians here are strict but friendly. The place is clean and spacious. Nice library! Note: Need to wear long pants before entering the library.a year agoBeautiful and comfortable places to do work and read books… Stylish design.. Clean washroom, surau. But cannot bring bagpack inside.

Seen school children loitering around. Book collections are outdated that I worried that those kids can’t make it to University. Manuscripts are good. There is a garden/farm behind. Some add on renovation is on going. 15 books for 2 weeks is a good deal. There is a corner for baby library.
Air conditioned. Nice place for kids to learn and study. It even offers kids some sort of classes to attend which is good for the kids rather than letting the kids watching YouTube on handphones. Although car park is a little bit limited but it is a wonderful place to spend with your kids.
Not operating in operating hours and no notices. Now I know it’s because they declared today as public holiday at midnight because the Johor soccer team won. Even locals have to get this news from Facebook feeds. Very interesting experience.
I guess the only way for travelers in Malaysia to cope with that is to confirm with local hotels or guesthouses whether it’s a suddenly-declared public holiday every day before they go out.
Kinda disappointed by the library as it has so much potential 🙁
Came on a Thursday, which was a school day, and from the reviews I knew that there would be a lot of school kids there (a school was right beside the library so it’s expected).
But what I wasnt expecting was the sheer noise and unruliness of the kids there T_T they were running around the lobby, making noise in the reading room upstairs (bring headphones if you must study or do some reading here) and overall disrupting the (supposed) peace and quiet of a library :’)))
Loved the availability of rooms you can study/read in, and a VR room to play VR in (?), and the helpful staff there, but sad cos why got no strict people telling off the kids :’)))
Surau & toilet were clean, and so was the rest of the premise.
Oh ya. To register for a library card, you just had to scan QR code and fill in ur details, hand in ur IC to the counter downstairs to be photocopied, then boom u’ll get ur own library membership and ur able to borrow some books for up to 14 days!
There’s also an interactive station (Petronas thingy) you can check out if ur into science-y stuff, but the cafe is no longer open (dk if it ever will be)
Honestly, this is a great place if you want to spend some time studying as it is generally clean and spacious. Lockers are also provided if u need to put ur bags etc. Staffs are friendly too and they will try to help out with any issue you have.
The only downside is that on days when there are school trips making their visit to the library, some of the groups can be so unruly and rowdy that even turning up headphones to near max volume also cannot blocked out their noise ? But this is generally the school’s problem to handle. The only few things u can do is either bear with it, wearing headphones when the unruly ones come over, complain to the librarian, or just leave. I tried complaining once, and it did help cause the librarian would go and remind the teachers to control the rowdy bunch, and put an end to their noise. Maybe can try it out next time for other people having the same problem ?
