The library moved from the UMNO building in Seremban town to the DS2 Mall in Seremban 2 (near Aeon Seremban).
I was impressed at how they make do with the place. It was a mall that turned to a library filled with facilities for the community. There is a huge kids section, AR room, IT room, playroom, esports area, surau and a cafe all within the building. I think i missed out some area, but do go for a visit and enjoy your time there.
My son (5 years old) and I enjoyed the kids books collection. There is a mixed of old and new books. Membership is free!
The librarian and staff are helpful and friendly. Please follow the rules and regulation, social distancing, wear your mask and sanitize often. #kitajagakita
I never knew that N. Sembilan has such a nice and contemporary public library. The place is nice, well-lit, spacious and kids friendly. Open to public every Tuesday until Sunday, 9 am to 5 pm. Membership is free (it’s a hassle free procedure, you just fill in basic details and you’ll get your membership card right away). Lockers are available for you to put all your stuff or bags.
Kids section – This section is the main attraction here with multicoloured wall, bean bags, mini tents and big tree in the middle – perfect for storytelling session. Every weekend, there are many activities for kids mainly arts and craft. There are booths selling food and other stuff too.
Smart library – There are 36 Samsung Galaxy tabs available for you to browse the internet or play games. Kids especially love this as they can play many kids friendly + parents approved games. There’s a mini cinema for them to watch movies or cartoons (upon request) enough to keep them occupied while you work on your assignments, discussion or reading books.
Xspace esports – Another feature which made this library extra special. Gamers can now play PlayStation 4 games including FIFA and race simulation for FREE! All you need is a membership card to have access to this.
Koleksi Waghih Negeri Sembilan – This section is dedicated to those who are looking for specific information on Negeri Sembilan; e.g it’s culture, politics, literature, costume, cuisine and arts.
This library also known to frequently held events or outreach programmes to promote reading culture in the community. Librarians here are friendly and helpful.
Overall, I must say that this library is a must visit place if you’re in town especially in Seremban.
SUGGESTION:
1. Basket
I’d like to suggest the library to provide a basket for user to carry their stuff like computer or books around.
2. Volunteer Programme
I believe there are many seniors especially pensioners who’d love to help around especially in the reference section or during activities. It’d be nice to have a volunteer programme, which in the long term can create a sense of belonging in the community.
The location is strategically located in the heart of S2 and just opposite AEON Jusco S2 so you may just walk across to get lunch or coffee or something.
The library is newly constructed 2 story building with an escalator inside. There is also a gaming room for gamers. There are sufficient spaces for discussions located on both floors and there are multiple PC with strong internet connection as well.
Yes strong/V Fast Wifi
There are lots of books.. fascinating place to feed your soul. Very friendly front desk officer. Patiently explaining procedure and rules to the public.
A modern new library with escalators, surau, washrooms, all kinds of nooks and corners with different themes but not enough parking space. Came on a weekday, library was not busy but no parking space all took up, had to park by the roadside. Also member is allowed two books only to borrow home for 14 days. Need to upgrade the book limit for sure.. a little left behind.
