I originally wanted to take a vacation Sitting there reading a book and pretending to be a young man taking pictures But the time I went there was really bad.
It should be good to take pictures if you go there in the evening.

Love it! Already much better. Good quiet, cool and condusive environment. Your can become a member or family member package to borrow books & magazine. Otherwise, entrance is free & you may spend your time productively here by reading newspaper, magazine & books. Reference books are upstairs.
Such a surprise Penag Island has such a place that suitable for kids and adults for reading in peace, or enjoy your afternoon with children for quality time with educational toys and story telling.
Just pay a very small fund to enjoy the readings and quality time with your kid, it is definitely worth it.
There are craft making workshop on every Saturday and Sunday, you may bring your kid along.
Let’s promote more reading instead of screen time. 😉
Range of books are rather limited and extremely noisy when kids are allowed to run around and scream. The librarians seem oblivious and not care too much about the noisy kids. Even the parents are walking around with their noisy flip flops and talking on their phone, as if they are in the market. The library staff should be more strict rather than tolerate the noise, after all it is a library. A far cry from dewan sri pinang library back in the day. Closed on Monday and Tuesday..and public holidays.
Not kids friendly. They should have a separated kids area bc everyone knows kids will be loud. But no. I wish the kids library can make a comeback. I went there a lot when i was younger.
Bringing my nieces there was no fun.
A nice place and wide selection of material . Staff politeness and interaction with public at the front counter still have a big room for improvement , moody raise the voice etc . However the Chinese lady at the children section is very professional and friendly .
