I used to exchange money at this money changer without any issues. However, my recent experience was very disappointing. I brought currencies from several countries to exchange into RM. The first two exchanges went smoothly, but when it came to the Hong Kong Dollar, things went wrong.

I had HKD 1,910, but they only counted HKD 1,810. I assumed I had made a mistake and didn’t double-check—my fault there. The posted rate for HKD was 100 HKD = RM 54.2, but they gave me only RM 40 per 100 HKD.

After the exchange, I walked around for a few minutes and realized something was off. I returned to the counter, and they told me the lower rate was because my HKD notes were “old.” I called my sister-in-law in Hong Kong, and she confirmed that all the notes I had are still valid and commonly used there.

This was a very disappointing and frustrating experience. I will not be returning to this money changer again.
