The hotel has very complete amenities and the furniture, oh wow, really took me by surprise. The relics really made me feel like I had traveled back in time, into the distant past. 10/10 would recommend, and would come here again the next time I visit penang, Georgetown.

I booked a single bed with shared bathroom. It was really cheap, though I didn’t mind the room being a bit warm. These place has a certain character to it. Oriental and rustic.

unhelpful service, got problem with the electrical outlets and the room, but not offer to change the room. Dirty and noisy room, the blanket was a torn rag, stained bed sheet. Booked via Agoda but the hotel requested payment in cash, Agoda agreed to cancel without any charge to the hotel but the hotel didn’t agree to refund. Not worth all that hassle, rather go somewhere else?

  1. Stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights. The place is quite good and strategic, whereby it is nearby most of the tourist attractions and good food places. Situated right at the heart of Georgetown, it allows tourists to experience the culture and heritage of Penang by walking around the area. Over the weekends, there would be a famous night market set up beside the hotel.
However, I’m disappointed by the service as the family room I got had dirty floors and the sheets were not changed the next day. Breakfast buffet didn’t have much options either, it was mediocre. Try getting a deluxe room when you’re there and thank me later. Trust me, you would totally appreciate the extra space. Comfort is essential when you’re travelling, especially with family and groups of friends.
There’s parking spots available for guests, whereby they charge RM10 per day, which is totally worth it. Saves the hastle of finding a parking spot in the city.
    Overall, a good place!

  2. This is really a Heritage hotel.. the outside look very nice but the room we had is far from perfect.

The pipes in toliet in the room we were assigned were leaking, even though they came to change the pipe, it still doesn’t solve the problem. Then the alarm kept going off every other day with no reason. Hotel staff claim that someone is tampering with the alarm. Then one day, the air con cover fell off and almost hit one of us. So we requested for a change of room.

Then the changed room(room #2) was also not perfect, the tap in the toliet came off literally, and there is a crack at the socket. The Aircon also not cold.

Nevertheless the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The location also very centralized and convenient to move around the area.

  3. Amazing hotel location & best value for money. 3 star hotel but with a 5 star front desk team. Kudos to Joshua, Vishnu, Gloria & Jonathan for assisting to cater to me & my family’s needs and making my stay very pleasant indeed. Nonetheless, really hope the hotel owner could perhaps look to revamp on some of the room furnishings.

  4. Parking is at the back of the hotel, limited in numbers based on first come first serve basis. You have to check in first and get the parking access card before you can park. Room is just ok but the best part is the location.. Near to all attractions.

  5. Please fix the following problems:
    Room 412:
    1) The entrance door is too hard to open, had to kick it while holding the door knob to enter.
    2) Bathroom glass door latch not functioning.
    3) Moved to Room 420.

    Room 420:
    1) Please fix the air conditioner unit! Your lobby is cooler than the room!

    Update:
Problem solved the next day before afternoon. Changing 3 stars to 4 stars.
