a month agothis is a very old hotel (Aqueen hotel door card-key ?!) with super-tiny Deluxe Queen Room, the bed is 2-single smaller bed joined, everywhere in room is filled with dust: the TV, the cabinet, the air duct, air-con vents and even on the walls and ceilings. the shower are always flooded when showering.a week agoRooms are good. Not the best. Erstwhile Hotel Ascendre, One of the most comfortable rooms, spic and span + well equipped toilets, plus good service right in the heart of Geylang.
The rooms have been renovated in a cost effective manner from the previous ownership. But overall the services and attentiveness of the staff members, like Amit or Hao, was exceptional. Had a great time, as I stayed there for 3 nights. The common space was fairly equipped, so even if you have food leftovers you can put it in. The location is very easy to find and near around one of the best eateries Singapore has to offer. For the cost it comes at, it is very cheap and affordable as per SG standard. No hidden charges, no frills and jargon, so the check-in and check out was equally fast and efficient. Kudos to the staff members for being really chilled, yet on toes to help the guests.
Excellent rooms, with great service staff. Location looks and feels comfortable, rooms are a little small, but reasonably so. Only issue is at night, some loud music might be audible from the rooms, but that’s to be expected anyway due to the location. Many eateries around the area too.
Cons:
– they should start calling this a Hostel asap, not a hotel.
– bunk beds are too squeaky, you can track even the slightest movement of anyone in your room.
– the shower head is right above the toilet seat, never seen this before in my whole life.
– high probability of you intentionally/unintentionally touching your roommate’s feet.
– the locker is 100% hackable, only a 1 time use: even the staff knows about it.
Pros:
– the cleaning staff does a good job.
– its right next to grocery stores, bus stop, and MRT.
– the wi-fi is good, no issues there.
I mistakenly reserved female room and canceled the booking immediately after 3 minuites. I requested refund by E-mail three times, but no response and the payment has been done..
