I had a very good experience here. The bike worked smoothly, brakes were decent. They didn’t provide me with an helmet but I don’t think it’s compulsory. They did provide a lock instead but I got the feeling that my bike wouldn’t get stolen anyway. They don’t ask for any deposit. It’s 5000 kyat for 12h and 10000 kyat for 24h. They will wait for you up until 10 pm to bring it back. There’s a bell out of the building to get their attention if they’re upstairs.

Good to rent a bike for a short time. 5000 kyat for half day or 10,000 for full day. Very low-key place. You would not see it except for the sign, but if you go to the gate you will see the bikes inside. You may have to yell for someone to come down. The owners are very friendly.

Outstanding excellent experience, no faults and the best way to see Myanmar. I hired a CRF 250 starting in Mandalay and travelled to Bagan, onto Naypyitaw, then Inle Lake, then back to Mandalay all while stopping along the way to experience various small towns and the Myanmar’s people. The bike was perfect only being a couple of months old and not many km’s on the clock. The service offered by Mario and is team at Myanmar Motorcycle Rental was nothing less than perfect. They had the bike delivered to my hotel and when completed, picked it up from the hotel as well. The price was great over the duration of the rental period. If you are planning on travelling around Myanmar and seeing a few places while you’re there, I would highly recommend contacting the team at Myanmar Motorcycle Rental and let the adventures begin. I will be a repeat customer .. guaranteed. Myanmar – a very special place.

My friends and I rented 6 bikes in Mandalay and did a week long loop through Bagan and Inle. Mika was very helpful in planning our route. The bikes were almost brand new and worked perfectly. We had no issues with pick up or drop off. We would definitely rent from Discovery Rides again

In April 2018 I traveled to Myanmar. It was a short trip and I was flying in and out of Yangon. Discovery Rides / Myanmar Motorcycle Tours was the only company that could provide a motorcycle from Yangon. Ivan was my contact, and he was excellent. Very good service. There are no motorcycles allowed in Yangon, so I went by the office and he spent time with me and a map to help me plan my route. He has been in the country for many years and speaks Burmese. He knows every road. He then loaded up a bike (well maintained and ran perfectly the entire trip) and gave me a ride to the city outskirts. 5 days later I got in touch with him as I approached the city and he came and picked me up where I wanted. He was very accommodating and Discovery is a professional tour / rental company that knows what they are doing. After we went back to the office to hand over my deposit, Ivan hooked me up with an ice cold beer. The pricing for all rental services was very fair. All aspects of my experience were very good, right from the first e-mail correspondence. I fully recommend using Ivan and the Discovery Rides team. On a side note, most westerners would scoff at a little 125cc motorcycle, but in Myanmar I was the biggest and most powerful bike on the road! It’s a different world. A few extra cc’s would have been nice on the highway, but even there the main traffic is only doing 80 kph.

Ivan is the GM. He helped me navigate the difficulties in getting motorcycle in Yangon. It’s technically illegal to ride a motor bike in Yangon unless you are a postal worker, Myanmar government official, police or bought the license.

Ivan needs to hand over the bike outside of Yangon city limits to comply with local laws. He was gracious enough to give recommendations on where to go and what was a good option. he speaks Burmese and has been living in the country for over a decade.

He let me know you could ride a machine from Yangon to Mandalay one way, or vice versa, and drop the bike off. Amazing option. They will even pick or drop off the bike up from your hotel.

Ivan has many big bikes to choose from but is limited to a few scooters. Perhaps with more demand they will expand their fleet to include more automatics.

The other option in town isn’t allowed to rent bikes now and another shop has some horrible reviews that make sense to avoid.

Please make arrangements in advance with Ivan to get your ideal situation since he has to coordinate with the Mandalay branch. good luck exploring Mandalay.

Did a guided tour of Northern Myanmar through Mandalay, Inle Lake and Bagan on a Royal Enfield 350cc and it was a fabulous experience. The bike was in very good shape, really enjoyed our guide supporting us across the trip and had a good mix of driving through nice scenery and checking out local life across the way. The highlight of the trip was definitely Bagan which is must see on any trip to Myanmar.
