Great time at this place, highly recommend staying here. From the dorm to the private rooms it’s amazing accommodations. Clean and very friendly staff. Even going out the way to come to the room and tell me about current events and happy hours happening in the lobby . The pub crawl ran by mad monkey and hosted by Tom gave me great new friends and one of the best nights in Phuket so far. From solo travelers to groups this is the place to come while in the city.

It is the best hostel I have been to in Phuket. The staff is so nice that my heart melts, breakfast is included and prepared with fresh ingredients on the spot. The bed was super comfortable, with fragrant sheets and lots of privacy and silence thanks to the curtains. I will definitely come back here ❤️

Really great place to stay in Phuket. I would strongly recommend going to the Old Town here rather than Pathong when you want a more “Thai” experience. Prices are way cheaper when you look for the right places there and when you have a scooter you can get to many places very easily! Thanks for the amazing staff and the meal you shared with me before my departure 🙂 See you next time!

The location is very near to the old town. I arrived in Phuket around 10PM and this property is not the one that I book, the hostel that I booked is kicking me out because they said the system is error so they couldn’t find my booking and suddenly I found The Dorm Hostel and they welcome me very well especially receiptionist named Pat. P’Pat is very helpful and very caring helping me to get a room here and she’s very very patient explaining to me and show me all the facilitie here in the hostel eventhough it’s already late night. I’m very thankful to P’Pat. And I will recommend you guys to stay at this hostel and please ask Pat to help you out cause she’s very nice and kind person????

    – Girl at the reception is nice but it’s so difficult to understand her English I had to wait almost 1 hour to do the check-in, there was nobody at the reception Booked for 4 nights but left earlier, due to the constant noise during the night, which made me impossible to sleep properly even with earplugs (the big fan, the fan from the room behind me that made a terrible noise, people snoring, crazy russian guy shouting in the middle of the night, people walking) The lockers are FULL of ants, and so my luggage for several days after leaving the place

A hostel is a form of low-cost, short-term shared sociable lodging where guests can rent a bed, usually a bunk bed in a dormitory sleeping 4-20 people, with shared use of a lounge and usually a kitchen. Rooms can be mixed or single-sex and have private or shared bathrooms. Private rooms may also be available. Hostels are popular forms of lodging for backpackers, however very few impose age limits, so hostels are an option for travellers of all ages and styles. The benefits of hostels include lower costs and opportunities to meet people from different places, find travel partners, and share travel experiences. Some hostels, such as in India or Hostelling International, cater to a niche market of travelers. Different hostels can be known for offering different experiences. For example, one hostel might feature in-house social gatherings such as movie nights or communal dinners, another might feature local tours, one might be known for its parties, and another might have a quieter place to relax in serenity, or be located on the beach. Newer hostels focus on a more trendy design, some of which are on par with boutique hotels. Some may cater to older digital nomads, global nomads, and perpetual travelers who prefer slightly more upmarket private rooms or a quieter atmosphere. Hostels may also differentiate themselves by being environmentally friendly ecohostels. In countries where wages are lower, the cost of staying at a hostel may be similar to staying in a budget hotel.
Many hostels are locally owned and operated, and are usually cheaper than hotels. Even during the financial crisis of 2007–2008, many hostels reported increased occupancy numbers at a time when hotel bookings were down.
A 2013 study in Australia showed that youth travel was the fastest-growing travel demographic and that the hostel industry was growing at a faster rate than the hotel industry. It showed that youth travel can lead to higher overall spending due to longer trips than traditional vacations. In New Zealand, backpackers hostels had a 13.5% share of lodging guests/nights in 2007.
