Would highly recommend for anyone who wants the chance to listen and talk to a former novice monk about Buddhism (and anything else, i.e life in Laos, Buddhism in Laos) ? It was a relaxed environment at the temple and we chatted for a hour about Buddhism and we asked questions as we went along. Si was very thorough in his answers and had excellent English. I felt comfortable asking questions about Buddhism and his life as a monk. I could’ve talked for much longer. He had excellent English and could understand and interpret our questions and I learnt so much about Buddhism.

We then went inside the temple with Si explaining main areas and talked to us about different types of meditation, before practising with/alongside him. The temple was just for us so no one was watching us or with us, apart from our group, which I liked.

We explored sitting, standing and walking meditation in the temple. We looked at chanting books too. He was excellent teacher and made us feel comfortable.

If you are into Buddhism, spirituality in Asia then I’d recommended this really enriching, authentic experience. If you want to get most out of it, come with questions because you’ll get really thorough answers.

We also had the joy of seeing a little puppy and it’s mum at the temple (all dogs calm and friendly) ?? Thank you si, and orange robe tours xx

Top class tour experience from the very knowledgeable, respectful, friendly and fantastic tour guide (Si). Our temple tour was supposed to last only an hour but ended up over 2 hours as Si was very genuine and enthusiastic in answering all our questions about Buddhist beliefs, practices and temples which we did not really understand beforehand. Tour group was small and Si carefully explained and answered all our questions, including questions of his own personal experiences. Highly recommend for all who would like to learn about Lao Buddhist culture temples and also Buddhism in general in an intimate and informal setting.

The Orange Robe tour and the small temple Wat Pa Phai in Luang Prabang we met at were very interesting. Nothing was off the table. We discussed Buddhism, the temple daily life from novice to Monk, and life after the temple. Then, we spent one hour inside the temple practicing meditation (seated, walking, and standing). It’s definitely worth doing if you have an interest in Buddhism and/or meditation.

I absolutely loved this tour. It felt culturally appropriate, and I could ask my guide lots of questions and he was very patient. I did the tour and the guided meditation. Excellent. I’ve learnt loads. Not cheap but this is a high quality tour that pays people fairly so I’m happy to pay a little bit more.

I really enjoyed this experience! Tay was great! I especially enjoyed the openness of communication:) felt very comfortable asking him anything I had in mind. The meditation techniques were very beginner friendly, which I appreciated because it was my first time trying to meditate. He was a patient and kind guide! One of my highlights in my time in Luang Prabang.

Amazing experience. I cannot believe we were the only tourists staying at the elephant camp overnight. If you want to get close with elephants, it does not get any better than that.

We took a 2D / 1N tour that took us from Luang Prabang to Kuang Si Falls, then to Manifa Elephant Camp on day 1. Day 2 was Elephant (Mahout) Experience in the morning, then Pak Ou Caves and Whiskey Village in the afternoon, plus return to Luang Prabang by slow boat during sunset. This trip was worth every penny.

The Elephant Camp is awesome. The rooms are nice and comfy. The staff treated us like royalty. They cleaned and filled the jacuzzi for us, and cooked an amazing steak dinner.

We had a lot of contact with the elephants. No elephant is mistreated there. If anything, I would say they are spoiled. The Mahouts guide the elephants with words only. We were able to ride and bath the elephants, then bring them to the jungle for the night. The next morning, we went to get them from the jungle, then bathed them again. After that, we were free to wander around the camp to search for elephants and to feed them as many bananas and sugar cane as they wanted.

The guides we had before and after the camp were nice and spoke good English. Mr Ping Pong was very friendly, funny, and informative.

In my opinion, the 2D / 1N package is the best way to enjoy all these activities. Doing them separately would have been disappointing. Spending the evening and morning at the elephant camp gave us enough time to appreciate their presence.

I did the half day tour to the whiskey making village and the caves. Highly recommend this company, lots of free alcohol tasting, friendly guide and a great lunch at the elephant sanctuary! Great value – also would recommend the full day trip if you’ve not been to the kuang si waterfall.

i booked a day tour to kuangsi falls, pak ou cave and the villages via lao group tour in luang prabang, so was a little confused that the tour was operated by Manifa. nonetheless, our guide Vone was amazing. he spoke really well, and checked in constantly to ensure our comfort throughout the tour, that we’ve got enough water, wet wipes and beers for the sunset cruise. Vone would also ensure everyone has nice photos for keepsake and proactively get us to pose for pictures; i really appreciate that because now i have so much more to look back on. Highly recommended, and you’re in luck if your guide is Vone!

I did the Pak Ou Caves & Kuang Si Waterfalls Cruise. Brilliant experience in every way, especially the buffet lunch, elephant feeding, whiskey tasting and the village visit. It’s an amazing day, and the cruise up the Mekong is a great experience in itself.

Thin was a perfect guide who gave us lots of information and was always helpful and friendly. Couldn’t recommend highly enough, a must see.

Used for two tours during my week in Luang Prabang. Both went well, one kayaking, one hiking. Each came with a decent lunch. Each tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were good, as a shopped around a bit before booking.
