  1. We order a portion of herbal duck, roast pork, soup of the day (old cucumber soup), mince meat tofu and 2 drinks (tea of the day and honey lime). – Total 88RM

The overall portion was good and the duck was herbal and well cooked, they definitely didnt skimp on herbs there. But my favorite dish was actually the mince meat tofu which had soft egg tofu drenched in mince meat and mushroom sauce.

The roast pork was good but not fantastic and the soup of the day was pretty good.

To be honest, the service was great since the lady didn’t exactly order the duck type we wanted (ordered the more expensive duck thigh instead of the normal meat) and we felt a little ripped off but the overall good meal made up for it.

If you were to visit, the duck is a must, do check carefully what was ordered for you and give tofu a try:)

  2. Ordered a quarter duck and roast meat, came nicely with fragrant rice. Duck has good amount of fat, same for the roast meat. Though this place is famous for its duck, the roast meat was surprisingly good as well, not too dry and the skin was crispy and has this savoury taste. I think the sauce for the duck deserves a mention too, it was slightly herbalist, not too overwhelming for certain people, and has a little sweetness that surprisingly complimented with the duck well.

Before leaving, I ordered half a duck and some roast meat for dinner. Left in room temperature till dinner time, the duck tasted even better, and I was given plenty of sauce. It was a very satisfying dinner.

  3. The best time to come round would be around 10am. No queue, immediate seats. Prompt service. Everything is just a little oily for my taste—but I suppose fat is flavor. ??‍♀️????The duck and the roast meats were all very good, and I enjoyed it with the noodles and the bean sprouts. I personally find this a good option for anyone who’s in the area and is looking for good comfort food. Am a repeat customer, and would recommend to anyone who’s in the area.

  4. The roasted duck here is amazing. The seasoning and the tang qui sauce is so flavourful and the skin is crispy but the meat is tender. The roasted pork is good but a little salty and very fatty. You can request for leaner portion. The char siew is so good. It is tasty and tender. The prawn dumpling is nice but the soup is a little too bland for my taste. The dry noodle has good texture and the black sauce adds to the flavour. The vegetables is cooked perfectly.
Overall, I had a very enjoyable lunch here.

  5. I tried their duck and pork rice during a public holiday. Many people were dining in, but most were taking away the crispy ducks before heading back to SG.

The duck is good, no fishy taste, but the herbs aren’t very strong. As for the pork, the skin isn’t crunchy, but the taste is decent.

Despite my somewhat negative review, I’d say the food is worth the price, especially if you’re from SG (though it might be expensive for locals). I’ll definitely come back again.

Cosy ambient environment. Yellow lighting makes the place feel warm although the air conditioning is cold. Quality of dim sum is good and affordable especially during weekdays. Their dim sum menu has items not commonly found in common coffeeshop dim sum places. Service is good and they clears the empty plates and helps to fill your tea cups fast. Overall it’s a good dining experience for dim sum lunch.

The place is suitable for many occasions such as wedding dinner and events. There is parking available within the restaurant area that are easily accessible. A good place to enjoy quality food with friend and family. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Big space, huge hall, dimmed atmosphere and feels like back in the 80’s decor. Not my preferred dining ambience but older generations may appreciate it. Dim sum is ok, value is not great if pay full price. However they have 50% promo on selected dim sum items from Mon to Fri. Pepper lovers take note, on the menu they have steamed Chicken claw which is one of my favourite dim sum dish, but this restaurant take it to the next level.

It’s actually OP steamed Chicken claws. OP for overwhelmingly pepperish. Or over power if you’d prefer. The pepper (I hope it’s pepper coz it tastes like it, and not some other funky stuffs) in the overwhelmingly pepperish Chicken claws has enough pepper for my 3 years of pepper use, because I’m a… normal person. For the peppers lovers though this is the dim sum to order because it’s, did I say overwhelmingly pepperish already? You’ll love it. Me, not so much. Because all the subsequent dishes tasted overwhelmingly pepperish. In fact, everything I eat in the next 3 months will taste like pepper even if I drink Listerine. Service is very good, restaurant standards. Tea pot gets refilled with hot water without you having to request for it.

The highlight of the meal was the 蝦餃 which has no photo because I ate it instantaneously.

Also particularly enjoyed their quick tea refill service! Thumbs up for high quality dim sum place for lunch!

Good ambience and excellent service from the staff. Food is generally good. One of the dishes that stand out is the iberico pork rib. It is flavorful and crispy on the surface.

I placed an order for the “Four Heavenly Kings,” but unfortunately, the Siew Mai and pork ribs were undercooked. Upon notifying the restaurant, they took them back for recooking. However, the Siew Mai returned with one piece still not fully cooked, and we chose not to provide feedback again. The gyoza were disappointingly soggy and lacked crispiness despite appearing charred on one side. The filling resembled fish cakes more than actual meat. On a positive note, the custom-made crispy skin tofu, while heavily coated in flour, remained fluffy and crispy.

Overall, the dining experience was quite unsatisfactory as we had to check if each item was thoroughly cooked. I would not recommend this place, and one visit is sufficient. On a positive note, the staff members were polite and attentive.

In the early 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, this was the GO-TO place to host your wedding dinner, full moon dinner and all forms of family get-together makan-makan event. They had the best Hong Kong Chef and together with his crew, they dished out the best of Hk dishes. At the turn of the century, the Chef and his staff left. Now we are only left with the memories of good food and our loved ones who are since long gone. The Dimsum is just ordinary – nothing to shout about but comparatively their prices are WAY above their competitors (Loon Sing, De Shanghai, Jiah Xiang, Changman) who each, despite not having an acclaimed name like them, managed a signature dish in their own right. Order the Har Gao, siew mai, carrot cake, vinegar pig trotters, fried beancurd roll with shrimp and chee cheong fun. All are passable. Stay away from their big pao, steamed ribs and paper-wrapped chicken. They are below standard (thawed product) and are dry and tasteless. Even their Chinese Tea tastes like the normal kopitiam ones though their prices are not., Their attendants speak fluent Cantonese and the ambience very much remains the traditional Cantonese restaurant of the bygone era. My family patronized this place for three generations (1970-2009). But i am afraid it would be our last visit to this beautiful, memorable place with our seniors. All the best!

Recommended dishes: Hargao/Pai Gu/Fried Shrimp Beancurd Roll

Terrible dishes: Chee Cheong Fun/Carrot Cake/Porridge/Siew Mai

Service: Not so good. Did try to order 菊花茶 per person. Service crew tried to promote us to order 4 pax which we rejected. She mentioned 3.80RM per pax if we get one pot of tea. We ordered plain porridge, they didnt mention that dont have until we ask the service crew. However they do have chicken porridge, scallop porridge.

Price: 150RM for 4 pax. See below receipt for the dishes we ordered. The restaurant menu doesnt state the price for dimsum.

Cab fare from Komtar to this restaurant: RM7 (Within 5 mins drive) Not worth coming back for their food. ??

The last time we were here was exactly 37 years ago at our wedding. Contrary to the many negative reviews, our encounter was pleasant and the food up to standard. Our server Julinda and her team were 1st class.

Was recommended by an acquaintance but was disappointed. Came here specifically to try the Peking Duck but it was not available. So we ordered Tim Sum dishes. Generally quite good until we got to the last few baskets of BBQ (char siew) pork steamed buns. The BBQ pork tasted really bad… it has GONE BAD, NOT FRESH, RANCID!! Smelled very porky!!! Took one bite and left the rest on the plate. Complained to the supervisor and they took it back. She seemed stunned. Did not even apologize. ? where was the QC on this?? Good thing none of us fell sick. We also ordered roast meat platter and it did not come. We asked about it and was told that it was not available. ? sheesh!! Why didn’t they tell us when we ordered??!
