4 months agoFirst of all very ‘stingy’ stall, asked for more chilli the young long hair lady said only can give two packs but I ordered 3 package of rice and noodles. ? Food wise really not competitive with other Zi char stall. Fried rice is hard and noodles taste was quite plain. First time visited and will be the last too.6 months agoOrdered one fried rice n broccoli. Waited 30mins then say forgotten broccoli. But can cook other orders after me. Hope their entire fam-er-li all go d!3..a year agoThe food is pretty decent but be prepared to wait for more than an hour for dinner takeaway during weekend. The staff ain’t very helpful and will just say 等一下。 Shall suggest either you go buy very early like 5plus or choose other zichar stalls.a year agoBe prepare to wait for your order on weekends! I ordered 3 dishes and ended up waiting more than 1 hr! Auntie there wasn’t very nice when I enquired when my order was going to be ready either. The food is decent but nothing to shout about either, surely not worth the wait!!a year agoProbably the worst zhi char place in this area. Poor service, horrible food, small portions. The “fried noodle dishes” are not freshly fried but prepared from pre boiled noodles and sauce. Any other zhichar in the area would be better than this one. Just dont come here to waste your money.

6 months agoFood was good, but be prepared to wait VERY LONG for the food. While ordering, they told us that we need to wait for 45 mins. I expected it to be 45 minutes for all of the food to be served. We waited for around 30 mins before our one serving bowl of pork intestines soup was served. We thought it was still ok. However, we had to wait for another 25 mins before the truffle duck was served. But that was after they messed up the order and served to the next table instead. These 2 dishes should already be pre-cooked and but it took them almost an hour to do that.
We had to wait for another 20 mins before they served our next 2 dishes. A total waiting time of 1 hour 15 mins before all our food is served.
I give 1 star for the food, and another star for that one staff with good vibes who was serving us. She was apologetic and trying her best to appease us. She revealed that there was only one chef in the kitchen.
To the management, if you can’t handle so many order, you don’t accept so many tables of customers.
11 months agoReservation highly recommended as this dim sum teochew eatery is very popular and busy despite huge area with many tables. We ordered various dim sum with noodles and glutinous rice etc all were well executed and did not disappoint in taste. Just find minimum service as the eatery and staff are really thinly spread, while pricing belongs to mid-high range. Still will consider visit again should there be celebratory occasions and craving for Chinese dim sum.5 months agoWhat a disappointing experience to come here for dim sum on Sunday. We arrived at 1:20 pm, despite having a reservation, we were informed that our table wasn’t ready. After ordering our food, including dim sum and roast duck, we were later told that the duck was sold out and had to change our order. It took nearly 40 minutes for our second dish to be served. Then at 2:45 pm, we were asked if we needed to order more as the kitchen was closing, even though our food hadn’t been fully served yet. We reluctantly ordered a few more dishes. Unfortunately, one of the dishes we ordered early, the fried mango prawn dim sum, had not been served and when we inquired about it, we were told it was sold out. This led us to believe they might have forgotten our order. Overall, the food was decent, but the service definitely needs improvement. We even had to wait a long time to make the payment. In comparison to the other branch in Toa Payoh, they really need to step up their service level and address these issues, as it has created a bad reputation for them.4 months agoWe came over to celebrate my dad’s birthday at this restaurant but it was such a disappointment.Food were average and weird; who actually drizzle strawberry sauce over fried yam?
Service staffs were rude; they cleared our plates/sauces even before asking if we’re done.
Atmosphere was suffocating; they limit our dining hours to 1hr despite so many empty seats/tables around.
Would not recommend this place.
3 weeks agoQuite atas chinese restaurant. Went there for a company cohesion. Ordered a vegetarian fried rice for myself. It was pretty nice. There were also some mock vegetarian ham in there as well. Portion is quite good too. I also noticed a vegetarian course set in their menu too.

The food are all overpriced even though I knew teochew cuisine is meant to be expensive. The crab was so small and 2 pcs for the price of $100, salted egg squid was $50, prawn was $60 and worst of all, a plate of tofu cost us $24. The waitress however at the 2nd floor did render good service as she kept changing our plate but that don’t justify for the total amount we had paid for ($475.90) for a simple dinner. We would rather go to Jumbo restaurant or any zichar stall which serve better good quality food than them and cheaper in fact. Last but not least, I do not understand why the review here is commenting on another food (Kway chap) and the sign board is different. Anyway the address is the same. For us, it will definitely be the 1st time and the last time to dine here. We would strongly don’t recommend any patronage to the so called ‘Teochew Restaurant’
Comfort food near home. Would always come for their fish soup and kueh chap. Flavourful fish soup, usually I would add bitter gourd for the crunch and vegetable source. Flavourful tender braised innards (love that skin is included). Would usually add on braised duck meat in my kway chap for additional protein. Their nai bai vegetable dish was cooked with broth (上汤) and with whole fried garlic. Flavourful, vegetable not overcook; has a crunch. Also love that they processed the garlic beforehand hence the garlic was not spicy. Attention to details.
Standards has improved, less salty and more flavourful than before, probably change of chef. Prices are reasonable. Love the convenience that they are open 24 hours.
The fish porridge is good, must try. The service is nice too. Some staff’s service approach is not the polished polite style, and at times is very direct, so to some customer this may appear as rude, but it’s just their down-to-earth direct approach.
My 2nd visit after a long while. It is a corner shop below HDB blocks with parking spaces in front of the shop. A cosy restaurant that serves Teochew food. The Teochew Cai Poh fried Kueh Teow is tasty, the chicken is nice, the Hey Chor Is just ok-ok. Overall, food is generally nice.
Ate here for 4 years. Today noticed the duck meat so little so I asked the staff why. She replied now duck meat up price. So I asked why no cucumber. She say sold out. So I feedbacked to the uncle who I think is the owner. He tell me to tell the staff next time don’t give drum stick. I replied him, did I ask for drum stick? I ordered duck rice need to specify no give drum stick then must I also say I want cucumber also? He kept quiet n left . 生意这样做的?
