  1. Great no frills hotel with very polite staff.
One of the best value hotel to stay at in JB , the place feels very clean and exceeds expectations.
Just 1min walk away to the popular fish head curry place and can walk to checkpoint too.

During peak period, I recommend going out to the main road to get to Grab transport if going elsewhere.

  2. True to the reviews, the hotel is really no-frills. The rooms are spartan and there are a few cracks in the walls; the vent is a little brown. BUT.

You will feel safe and cosy here, plus the sheets are very, very clean.

I have sensitive skin so dust and dirt or other particles will make me itch and redden like crazy. Nothing like that at all. I had a great sleep from night 1 to night 3.

Bryan’s service was impeccable, very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating to our request for a quieter room.

The hotel is walking distance from JB City Square, and the Jalan Tan Hiok Nee stretch, so you’re in good hands for accessibility. For those taking Grab to and fro, do note that the road has a lot of cars parked at the side, so your ride will take a little while to maneuver through.

What’s great is that the hotel is right next to a minimart. Water, snacks, toiletries… no worries. The hotel does provide a small bottle shower gel and a small bottle of shampoo gel, a disposable toothbrush and toothpaste tube, shower cap and handsoap. But that’s about it

Opposite and around are several eateries serving local delights (cash or Touch n Go/DuitNow only)… Good for takeaway or simply sitting there to eat.

I believe the hotel is usually quieter, but we happened to stay during the Deepvali celebrations, which meant loud fireworks going off just a building away, at 1am. I’m sure it is quieter otherwise.

Honestly I can’t complain. It’s safe and clean, plus the bed is so soft. The service staff are so attentive too

  3. I had three nights here. I arrived quite late from Singapore, so getting a friendly welcome from the night manager was very welcome. The bed was deliciously soft, air con kept me cool and the bathroom was great. I liked that by going across the street, I could have dinner at nearly midnight, and that the hotel was in the middle of downtown JB. Just a short walk away was the big JB Town Square Mall and access to JB Sentral, bus station and the CIQ facility.

On my first night and in the mornings, the internet worked fine. On the other nights, when I most needed it, it didn’t work at all – the hotel log in system refused access.

  4. Room no soundproof, hear people voice from other room and corrider.
    Bathroom shower not working.
Bed sheets are not clean and there’s still hair on the floor.
Although we stayed Premier room, feel like wasted.

  5. Room very run down, small as shown in photo, dusty, feel like last clean was quite sometime ago, no soundproof.
    Not recommended.
Although is very close to city square, and customs but traffic quite bad

Inexpensive and reasonably satisfactory. The air conditioning works well, there’s ample hot water, the bed is comfortable, but the TV only offers satellite channels. Unfortunately, there is no complimentary parking, and although my room was advertised as having a refrigerator, it was absent. The reception staff could improve their friendliness. Nevertheless, it’s a decent option for an overnight stay.

    * Hygiene standards require significant enhancement; the inner sections of the pillows display stains from previous users’ saliva.

Aircon was spoilt for one of rooms but we have managed to change to another room.

A dirty cup with coffee residue was found in the other room. The water basin was also leaking water onto the floor.

Bed and pillows are comfortable. Bedsheets have a few stains but are washed.

Shower pressure is satisfactory. Basic amenities like toothbrushes, shower gel, and shampoo are provided.

Overall, it is okay for short stays as it is near the paradigm mall.

Dad wanted a hotel nearest to Paradigm and I found this hotel with the highest rating. We booked for 2 nights, a 2 double bedded room but stayed only for 1 night.

The public parking requires coupon and the reception told us that we can purchase them in the city. As we checked in quite late, we were tired to drive up to get them. They have an app where u can pay the parking but would only accept local (Malaysian) bank account or cards.

We dont expect much in the room itself since the price is fairly low. The cleanliness is ok but could be better. Towels had stains on them. Extra towels is chargeable at MYR 20 each. Only 1 key card is provided per room. Although the room was for 4 pax. U can request for an extra card and deposit MYR 10.

There is an eatery nearby which is clean and offer variety on the menu. Love that they had 3-in-1 Nescafe.

Most rooms don’t have windows but the ones which accomodate 4 pax does. However each window has lightings on the exterior which lit up the room at night so u need to close the curtain properly.

The wi-fi connection is very poor. At times we were not able to log in and the pop-up error states that there are too many users. When we finally managed to log in, the connection is very laggy.

Its still consider worth it or the price, the room is good, nothing fancy but bed and pillow is confortable. There are okd stains on the chair, pillow, mattress, toilet floor etc.. overall not too pricey so still recommend. However, the service for night wasnt good, the 2 receptionist, wasn’t much of a help when we asked them questions. Not until we asked them to do it then they reply more practical answer. In Agoda, it is stated that free parking, but its not, its outside parking so not free. So if you dont plan to dpend long time in hotel, i will recommend this. The food around the area is not much but there’s a bbq restaurant. Pretty affordable.

We stayed 1 night. Rooms were cleaned but some noises during the night due noises from nearby pubs. Prices very reasonable.

It’s actually a hostel pretending to be a hotel. Walls are paper thin and not made of concrete, and sound proofing is non-existent. You’ll hear the traffic throughout the night if your room is near the main road.

Common shower and toilet was clean. Nothing outstanding, EXCEPT the staff at the counter.

He was polite, helpful, respectful and honest. He’s available 24 hours a day! Such dedication!

Customers should also keep proof of payment of tourism tax. Collection of MYR10 seems to be the default arrangement if you don’t challenge.

Very convenient to stay. The hotel is close to everywhere. It’s easy to reach any destination from the hotel. The rooms are clean, people are always helpful. They can assist you whenever you need help. The iron is there in every floor, so it’s easy to use, we don’t need to call the operator or housekeeping to bring iron. The receptionists are kind and always smile on their face. ❤?

The Gem Hotel Nusajaya is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in the Nusajaya area. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the hotel’s stylish and modern design, as well as its clean and well-maintained facilities. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with all the amenities one could ask for, including comfortable beds, fast Wi-Fi, and a well-stocked minibar. The staff were always friendly and helpful, making sure I had everything I needed to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Another highlight of the Gem Hotel is its location. Situated in the heart of Nusajaya, it’s just a short walk away from the city’s best restaurants, shops, and attractions. Whether I was in the mood for a night out on the town or a quiet evening in, I always had plenty of options. Overall, I would highly recommend the Gem Hotel Nusajaya to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in Nusajaya. The hotel’s stylish design, comfortable rooms, and fantastic location make it a standout choice.

The location is nearby shop lots, so it is very accessible and many other shops like convenience stores nearby. The room was very great and quite spacious. But the shower room glass is see through from outside, so it is not very comfortable. overall very satisfied
