The Independence Museum in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, is a great spot for history enthusiasts. Upon arrival, you might be offered an audio guide, but it’s unnecessary as everything inside is well-detailed in English, which is also transcribed in the guide. However, if you opt for the audio guide, be prepared to leave your passport, driver’s license, or another government-issued ID as collateral, which will be returned once you return the audio book. The space inside can feel a bit suffocating, and if time is limited, you might consider skipping it. Overall, for history buffs, it’s a worthwhile visit, but for those constrained by time, it could be an area to bypass.

This is a small museum and does not have much crowd, the entrance ticket to this museum is cheap and you will be able to take a look at artifacts of Vietnam.

There are quite a few things to see here and the one that I like the most would be the statues and the weapon sections. The only problem I have with this museum is the lack of English language available for foreign tourists about the artifacts and the origins.

I believe that more could be done in this aspect to bring in more foreign crowd into this museum. One last thing to note is to bring portable fan as there is no air conditioning here inside.

This is a wonderful place to take a leisurely stroll and immerse yourself in the rich history of the city. It’s adorned with an array of sculptures, paintings, and various other works of art that offer a captivating glimpse into the past. After your visit, you can find solace in an artisan tea shop nearby, providing the perfect setting to unwind and reflect on your historical journey. Overall, it’s a truly worthwhile experience.

It is a place worth visiting ! It relates the history of Vietnam. It is a little bit warm in the museum as it is not air conditioned, only fans. We managed to watch an half hour of Water Puppet Show at the museum too! Although we could not understand what the show is about as it is in Vietnamese, nevertheless, we enjoyed their performance!

By far the best museum in HCMC! I found it not too big or small, the price is right, and the depth and variety is great. Some of it is a bit old and self-congradualtory, but most of it is well framed. Loved the chronological setup, as well as the featuring of other cultures!
