Look… I’m not really sure why anyone travels to Cebu other than a connecting flight but this hostel was an experience I haven’t had in a really long time. I want to start by saying we are a couple who’s travelled lots and this has been the worst mad monkey hostel we’ve stayed in. Most mad monkeys are located in a fun and somewhat safe area. This location is not. We did not feel safe one bit and we’re advised to be careful when walking on the streets. We stayed here because we were going to go to Moalboal on a tour but honestly after talking to people about it, it was not worth it. We checked into a private room at 9pm and the room was shaking and so loud from the bar 3 floors up! I understand this is a party hostel but you should at least be able to escape the noise by going to your room but it felt as you were sleeping in the bar. Don’t be miss leaded as they do have a pool but it gets no sunlight what so ever so you can’t even hang out during the day. We were quite taken back because nothing lead us to it being this bad other than a few reviews that it was a party hostel. We left after one night even though we booked three because hotels weren’t that much more expensive and you get a pool outside at least. Unfortunately they wouldn’t refund us.
