  Honey Sea Coconut And Nata De Coco (SGD $3.50) @ Hundred Flavours Desserts. . When quality of ingredients is mostly standard (since it’s all canned or processed), the other factors to compete on are portion size, price, service quality, convenient location, or creativity. . It’s all about convenient location for this stall, with a largely captive audience that goes for takeaway or delivery. . Their rendition is refreshing. The slippery honey sea coconut and springy coconut water jelly, along with the smooth shaved ice and lime juice, combine for fruity floral earthy sour zesty sweet flavour.

  Spacious food centre that offers variety of food choices. Tried the chang chen chicken rice and they were very generous with their portion. The chicken rice was affordable as well, and comes with a free bowl of soup. Halal food options are available here as well! Would highly recommend the chicken rice stall

  A large coffee shop with many food stores. Several of them are supposedly famous, where you will see people queueing to buy or place order. Examples are the Fried Hokkien Mee store and the Lor Mee store. Spacious, breezy and clean. One of the better coffee shops I had visited.

  A rather large kopitiam sitting side by side with another large coffeeshop – Broadway.

  The noteworthy stalls are: Tiong Bahru lor mee and nasi lemak stalls that has super long queues, black and white fried carrot cake, teochew kuehs.

  Ma Lor mee is quite good especially with the fried fish option. Ample garlic and chilli for self add on. Whampoa Soya Bean gave a generous serving of gingko nuts with the bean curd. But be alert to inform them to have less sugar as mine was too sweet for me.

  Wide array of selections to choose from prawn noodle, chicken rice, fritters, Nasi lemak, fish soup, soya drinks, duck rice, and more recently newly opened pork trotter rice. Day 1 launched at Boon Lay Place Market. Some of the hawker stalls open as early as 6am, and the Kuay Chap stall even open 24hours. Evening stalls included satay, fried chicken wings, Zi Char and even grilled string ray etc. Always crowded with throngs of patrons visiting different stall throughout the day. Attached is pork trotter rice from Bai Nian!

  Visited Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak on Thursday evening for their nasi lemak. Sadly, the taste no longer the same like in their golden years. It is not just the nasi lemak, but also chicken and sambal goreng near to tasteless.

  There’s a famous Nasi Lemak stall at a corner and another chinese version which is equally nice. My favourite Chong Pang satay stall that sells nice satay and bbq chicken wings. If you like Hokkein mee, there’s a stall diagonal opposite to the satay stall, which is very nice. And there’s a stall selling nice Ngoh Hiang, aka deep fried stuff seasoned with five spices, facing Boon Lay place.

  As for dessert, other than the typical bamboo cane drinks and the many different hawker drinks, there’s an auntie selling assorted soya bean drinks and dessert.

  In short, it’s a hawker flair paradise!
