3 weeks agoWe booked though Watphou Travels direct after finding them on Google Maps. We travelled from Paris To Ubon R.Thailand) and Watphou Travels organised a pick up from our Hotel , through the border all the way to our hotel in Paske. Then we had 3 days in our private van with the same driver travelling and seeing all the local sites and down to the 4000 islands and transport on the final day to the airport. All costs where included except of course drinks, lunch and evening meals, the planned itinerary was respected and our driver went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and even stopped for us to visit extra little markets etc. In general I find if you are kind and respectful to your driver and are interested in the country you are visiting you get back a lot more than you payed for. Thank you also Soudavone for all your help in the organisation of our visit, your patience in responding to questions and most of all thank you for such a wonderful time in South Laos!!Finally many thanks to our driver/ guide Mr Kim who was very attentive to all our needs and professional to the end.
3 months ago1/2 Day Wat Phou Tour & Full Day Bolaven Plateau TourSo promoted tour includes 3 hours at Wat Phou, water, lunch by the Mekong after in a relaxing restaurant with panoramic views of the river. Then time to explore Champasack on your own for 40 minutes before returning to hotel around 2:20. What we got was time at Wat Phou, No water, on drive back 2 brief stops at riverside parks/areas and drive back to hotel arriving 1:15. So no peaceful lunch or time to explore the town.
NOT the advertised itinerary and not worth the money charged. If this is what is supposed to be provided it should be what actually happens.
The previous day we had taken the full day Bolaven Plateau tour. On completion we were somewhat satisfied but after the tour today we re-read the descriptions for the tours to see the many discrepancies. Advertised was lunch served in restaurant by the second waterfall stop. What we got was a stop at a roadside restaurant for a local soup. This was a far less charming location and a far cheaper option for the driver to provide so he could pocket the difference between a tourist by the waterfall place to a local on the side of the road place. There was to be a third waterfall later in the day and we were discouraged from going to it by our driver and a co-worker who had been picked up along the way who was getting a ride back to Pakse. As a result we ending our tour early by 1 hour and 15 minutes from the advertised itinerary. So my thoughts on the first tour dropped closer to the second day. Not impressed by the service or lack there of that was provided for the money charged.
9 months agoAs far as the travel agent goes, everything went smoothly and to plan, great service. We booked a VIP sleeper night bus from Pakse to Vientiane, The price included hotel pickup (its only a 2-3 minute walk anyway), we were collected on time. The ticket was exchanged by the driver for us at the bus terminal, it was an easy process and he showed us the correct bus to board too.As for the bus, it’s a typical Laos sleeper bus. They’re all the same no matter which company you book with. It could be a newer bus, could be an older bus but it’s luck of the draw what bus your on on the day. We had an older bus this time, blankets and pillows provided (not sure how clean they were..) Also had power points on the bed which worked. We left on time, actually 7:50pm and arrived at Vientiane about 6:30am, toilet on the bus was clean (no tissues so bring your own), no stops on route except passenger/parcel pick up/drop off so eat before you leave. Beds are for two people sharing and typically narrow, if traveling solo expect to be paired with a stranger or buy two seats to be alone. A small complimentary bottle of water is given on departure. (The route from Pakse to Vientiane is very bumpy all the way, don’t expect a great sleep!)
4 years agoWas in a bind in Pakse because my passport was at the Ministry getting a new visa so I couldn’t get on the plane. Melissa was kind enough to coordinate with Lao Airlines and arranged for them to let me on and sell me a ticket directly. Great service and she didn’t even get a ticket sale for her troubles! So yes, highly recommended.4 years agoTour was quite expensive and unorganized: we did the Bolaven tour including coffee and waterfalls. There was no guide during the tour and we did not get any information about how much time we had at each spot. We didn’t get any information about the places we saw. Moreover we had to stop at several spots where we only could buy sth. Although it was very expensive, no water was included. - Address: 4QCX+6H5, No.10 Rd, Pakse, Laos

12 months agoI would rate our 1 day treking experience with our guide, Pond, a strong 9 out of 10. He was able to communicate very well in English, was very responsive to questions and provided information on history, culture and …. for the areas that we explored. The vehicle used for transport was well suited and the driver was very professional. The service was very punctual. I would definitely recommend this tour even though I feel the $200USD (for my wife and I) was a little high (but we were paying for a driver with vehicle + a guide for a full day).a year agoAfter covid they operate again even though the office is still closed. Just contact them by whatsapp. We did the 2day toptree tour with hiking zipline and via ferrata. FANTASTIC Whatsapp : +85620550064433 years agoExcellent tour operator. We did a Treetop Explorer 2-day adventure. This was very well organized. Experienced organization and staff. Good gear. Lovely food. But best of all, the zip lining, scenery and remoteness. Well worth the price.Thank you Phone and Cumlai
