The pharmacist/owner is a very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful Laotian woman. In a country with as few medical clinics, hospitals, and other facilities, sometimes I depend on a pharmacist for advice on what to do. Whenever a serious problem is presented, advice given by pharmacists or other people with some knowledge of Laos and/or the field of medicine is the same every time:
“If you can afford it, go to Thailand a.s.a.p. and go to a public or private hospital or clinic.” This is good advice.
Anything short of that, I go to Aphinan Pharmacy, where I always get the medical/pharmaceutical supplies I’m looking for, as well as advice when I need it. I like supporting privately owned small businesses, and therefore I choose to continue to be a loyal customer at Aphinan.
I highly recommend it for all your everyday pharmacy needs such as antibiotics, bandaging supplies, medicine for simple diarrhea, heartburn, fever, headache, as well as vitamins, “medicine to assist with ED”, etc.
Very fair prices and conveniently located in central downtown Vientiane on Rue Setthathilath.
