This historical church is a perfect spot for families and tourists to worship; it’s within walking distance of colon street and other tourist attractions like the plaza, national museum, and Magellan’s Cross. There’s also a candle area and a water fountain next to the church. Outside the basilica, there are many vendors selling food and candles.

I am not a religious person so went purely as a tourist. A nice church and also very historic. Worth visiting if you are in Cebu. Gets busy on a Saturday so if you are visiting go in the weekday if possible. The area around the church is also interesting, a bit on the gritty side but a contrast to the modern areas of the city.

located just beside the magellans cross is the sto. niƱo church. this church attracts a lot of tourist and devotees at the same time. you can offer your sincere prayers here.

i was also amazed at how most of the area was open to people even their small garden at the back.

there were also painting hang on the wall but i found it sad bc it was bit washed out and probably not very well taken care of / preserved.

2nd time here. The 1st time we went here was holy week, so wala masyado tao, hence the peacefulness. 2nd time we went back, jampacked. Parang nawala yung solemnity ng place.

Aesthetics-wise, maganda pa rin yung lugar. The area for lighting candles for offering prayers is still my favorite part. The ceiling of the church have been painted with the story of how Christianity started in the Philippines.

When I was studying in Cebu City and later on during my seafaring journey, this place of worship was always on my list of must-visit destinations. The atmosphere inside is incredibly calming, and attending mass here can make you feel as though you’re in heaven.

In 2016, I took some photos of the church for a photo blog. However, the guard seemed unhappy about it, so I decided to take photos only outside the church.

A solemn place to attend mass, or just light a candle and just pray. For parking the place was adequate and guarded, expect full parking during Sundays, but is quite pricey amount to 30 pesos. Overall one of the most beautiful Churches in the country.

The Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history and culture. The architecture is impressive and the artwork inside is truly stunning. It’s a great spot for photography too, with many unique angles and lighting opportunities.

Less crowded compared to the Basilica. Nice architecture. A must visit place when you’re in Cebu City.

This church is one of the oldest churchest in Cebu City (Founded 1595). Even up to now, the place is still so beautiful.

My friend had a wedding here and because the ambiance is so beautiful already, it didn’t need much decorations.

I love that masses here always start on time.

It’s definitely a must visit if you want to know a bit of history of the Christianity here in Cebu.
