Came here during Naval celebrations, so there was a lot of military equipment and soldiers on display. Really cool to walk around and see all the ceremonies and the equipment lineups!

Overall, the monument is very peaceful, and you could tell that the general population that were visiting were very proud to be there. Definitely a landmark you should visit if you’re ever in Jakarta.

You can go to the top of the monument for views of the City. Suggest you get tickets early and after purchase do sightseeing stuff after as I had to wait three hours for my slot. Was up there for just 20 mins but glad I did it.

One of the tourist attractions that is never empty. Sometimes they hold events there with lots of booths full of local brands. I love it at night here! Oh yes, they also have lots of museums you can visit. Details information regarding ticket prices and visiting times can be seen on the official website.

The historic district with the Dutch colonial architecture is amazing. The huge Square is full of vibrant, colourful atmosphere, including Street, performance and band playing live music for karaoke participants. Lots of museums and even a building housing. A ghost train… The Plaza, vendors – one in particularrenting very colourful bikes with matching oversized hats and scarves added to the party like atmosphere. We really enjoyed an afternoon here. We ate at Batavia restaurant which is an old world Restaurant overlooking the square great food but a little expensive. But you pay for what you get the food was sensational. And of course the venue was amazing.

A large and historic place with strong links to the colonial era. I can’t say it’s worth the visit, but if you want to visit, choose a cloudy day or visit in the evening. Then you can take the opportunity to walk around the area.

Kota Tua Jakarta (also known as Old Batavia or Batavia Lama) is a historical district in North Jakarta, Indonesia, located on the northern edge of the city, encompassing the 17th-century Dutch colonial center of the city and its surroundings. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited areas in Jakarta and the largest concentration of surviving 17th and 18th-century buildings in Indonesia.
