Discover the Biggest Yoga Studio in Singapore

The reason I am leaving a 1 star review is because of how my husband was treated at the front of the studio by the staff. He knew I was inside the studio and we had planned to get lunch after the class. He was told when he arrived that “no men are allowed.” [the desk area is open to Great World Mall, there is no door or wall separating the desk from the open air space of the mall]. He explained that he was there to wait for me as I was about to exit the class. They then said ok for him to wait. He sat to wait for me to exit.

I was the first student to exit, as I was exiting I said hello to him and turned to get my shoes on. The staff went to my husband and told him to leave because his presence will make the clients “uncomfortable.” [Mind you, he is the person who pays for all my health classes, including the class I attended here.]

I was surprised that he was so blatantly discriminated against simply for sitting and waiting on me (playing chess on his phone, minding is own business, not doing anything wrong), at a place where you’d think the staff would be more sensitive to discrimination and tactful in how they deliver their messaging. I’d imagine the women attending here choose the women-only classes for various reasons, including postpartum recovery. I am a few months postpartum, so having my support people around is important to my mental health and my partner should be treated with some basic human respect.

While I was looking to get a membership at a hot yoga studio, this one is clearly not the right fit as if you have a husband, brother, son, etc waiting on you they will be told to leave (literally a few steps over, this studio is open to the Mall).

Women only “in-class” totally makes sense, but having sexist behavior against anyone is never ok. I’d make the suggestion to add walls and doors to better create a closed off space to the mall, train your staff in how they deliver their requests, and add a chair or bench in a place for those support persons to wait.

Absolutely love the Yoga classes here. Room is sufficiently warm and not stuffy. The instructors are extremely patient and kind, plus they give clear directions for a beginner like me. A special shout out to instructors Melly, Hazel, Anna and Zenn. Such a lovely bunch of people who help to make me feel comfortable even when I struggle through quite a number of the poses. I really appreciate it when they offer tactile prompts and support to correct my posture or deepen my stretch. Big thanks to the team there for making my first Yoga experience such a positive one!

I have many memberships with other studios that are more commercial and fitness focused, but OhmSantih is a place that I will always come back to. The studio is great for students who want to learn and practise yoga with it’s true essence; great for those who want to feel better in their body and mind (or have an injury / condition). Also highly recommend the prenatal yoga and kids yoga here.

Over the past one year, I have taken a number of classes at OhmSantih Yoga. The classes are taught by professionals who take care to teach to the needs of the individual participant. One of the best benefits of OhmSantih Yoga is this feature, small class size taught by caring staff like Ms Tammie, who is an amazing Yoga instructor. OhmSantih is a great place for yoga and for individualized attention.I will highly recommend OhmSantih Yoga to anyone who’s looking to learn and practice yoga.

I found Ohmsantih 2 years ago as I was looking for a nearby cozy boutique studio to get away from home and work during COVID. As a newbie, I started with their drop in flow classes and eventually move to Ashtanga Beginner then Ashtanga Intermediate & Advance. In the past 2.5 years, I’ve seen myself improve significantly, unlocking new poses and still learning about myself on every practice with them. I have to say I fell in love with yoga because of all the teachers I’ve practice with through my journey here and not to forget – the small class size where you get the attention from the teachers to help you push through your practice each time. Teachers in Ohmsantih are super friendly, humble & knowledgeable! If you’re looking for a non-commercial yoga studio, strongly recommending you to try out Ohmsantih!
