3 months agoBread was not warm but soft. Ordered mixed starter platter which was pretty tasty and good for 4 persons. The lobster bisque was a full bowl but tasteless and the small pieces of lobster was dry and chewy. Lobster pasta was filled with cherry tomato and garlic in tomato sauce. Pasta had the right texture and the whole thing was delicious. However, lobster was again chewy – probably frozen? Tiramisu was alright. It was almost full when we got there and a few tables were seated with Japanese. Atmosphere was nice and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We finished at 7:30pm and walked around to find that most other restaurants along the same street were around 20% filled. Given the many other choices in their menu, would probably give them the second chance and come back to try other dishes.4 weeks agoThe food is delicious! And the staff are so inviting and friendly. This is the first time I tipped someone, the team truly deserves it! Call to reserve before you come!a month agoLunch menu has many options to choose from. Chicken chop was served with local vege (cai sim) which I thought it was an odd pair in an Italian restaurant. Carbonara was served with turkey ham instead of bacon and it sadly did compromise the taste of it. But food was overall good. Please leave tummy room for dessert! Ordered the creme brule, chocolate lava and tirimisu. Service staff was attentive, alittle over enthusiastic in clearing our table and we felt rushed… Perhaps it’s because the kitchen closes at 2pm and we were the last few patrons. Cosy setting, however can get noisy and challenging to hold a conversation if you have a loud group of diners as the tables are rather close to one another.3 weeks agoCame in at 9pm and they close at 10.30pm, so was quite a rushed dinner. Slightly overcooked scallops, umami flavoured/ seasoned steak with foie gras and lamb chop so it gets a little heavy into mid way of the meal. Maybe it’s better to get a main and pasta. Had the parmigiani, not too bad. Cold bread but nice texture and herbed flavour. Also had a carafe of red wine. Could have had more friendly servers though I understand it’s been a long day.3 months agoBeen craving for Italian food in JB, and this place doesnt disappoint at all. Especially the oysters and pastaNext time will try second seating to savour the dessert and just oysters.

3 weeks agoWe came here for dinner last weekend. Overall, the food was quite good, especially mashed potatoes, but my linguine carbonara did not meet my expectations. It was less crowded, but the prices were on the higher side.4 months agoWe came here for lunch on weekend, surprised to see that no one is here. Btw, the food was good, seafoods were fresh no foul smell. Highly recommend their Aglio Olio, Bolognese, and Pizza thin crust with a decent amount cheese. Overall a decent italian restaurant located at Tun Aminah near Skudai. Certainly i will comeback here for a decent italian food.a year agoVery cosy restaurant. Favourite dish is the pizza. Crust is thin and topping is not too overwhelming. Rest of the main courses like Lasagne and meat example lamp is good. However, the portion of their main course is actually small. I wasn’t feeling completely full after leaving the restaurant.2 months agoWe had salmon, squid, chicken breast, etc.. All taste marvelous!!!2 weeks agoFood is nice. Hubby and I dined at Tosca for a double celebration – our 26 years of Wedding Anniversary and my birthday on the same day too. The food was great and the services were equally great too. Our compliments to their chefs Bob, Acai and Tuah and also the 2 servers, Malathy and Fiman/Aman.
Atmosphere and food is great. Sitting outside if there is cold weather otherwise prefer to dine indoor. Thanks Theresa had rearranged our seat from outdoor to indoor. I am giving all 5 stars because l understand that They are short of manpower. Food came out fast for our dinner and the best is their bread with olive oil ? Thanks Tosca team for the birthday cake for my hubby birthday. Only things Disappointed me is mushroom soup sold out at 8pm☹️
I had high hopes for this Italian restaurant due to its stellar reviews, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. To start, the complimentary starter bread was served like a loaf, the bread tasted thin and crispy on the outside and quite fluffy on the inside. The olive dip, although not bad, was noticeably milder compared to what I’ve savored in other Italian establishments.
Even the fries, a dish that’s usually foolproof, lacked flavor. However, I did appreciate the fact that they were made from hand-cut potatoes rather than frozen ones, which was a saving grace. The seafood pizza also erred on the side of bland, lacking the aromatic essence of being wood-baked. The seabass, regrettably, had a tough texture and an overpowering fishy taste.
On a positive note, the ambiance and service were commendable. A pleasant surprise awaited us at the end of the meal in the form of a complimentary piece of cake. Though it was, regrettably, the most subpar cake I’ve ever tasted – almost frozen and exceptionally hard – I still value the kind gesture.
In summary, the cuisine here falls short of authenticity and leans towards the bland side. If you’re in search of an authentic Italian dining experience, I’d recommend giving this one a pass.
During my recent visit to Tosca Italian TrattoriaI(Level 13 at Doubletree by Hilton) was profoundly disappointed with both the quality and pricing of the food.
The signature mushroom soup was a letdown; it was watery and lacked flavor, easily the worst I’ve ever had.
Moving onto the main course, the classics like spaghetti bolognese didn’t fare any better – it was overcooked and bland, failing to meet the basic expectations of a dish so simple.
The cheese pizza was another
disappointment, arriving soggy and unappetizing.
On a positive note, the service staff were attentive and friendly, which was a small consolation in an otherwise underwhelming dining experience. The indoor environment was dark, but it was still acceptable and had a cozy ambiance.
However, considering the high prices, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The cost is steep, especially given the subpar quality of the food. I suggest looking elsewhere for a more satisfying and value-for-money meal.
To summarize this whole experience, I would describe it as pleasant ambience and good service but terrible food quality.
Personally I enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant since it was relatively quiet and it had a pretty nice view. As for the service I would say the waitresses are really nice and patient which is definitely a plus point.
Unfortunately, the food taste and standard is the exact opposite…
To start things off, the mushroom soup was terrible; it wouldn’t be a far shot to say that this is the worst mushroom soup I have ever tasted for 45 ringgit. The soup was bland and the consistency was watery (you can view the video for evidence) . It just felt like mushroom soup from a can which was severely diltued and a small drop of oil added on top. I was greatly appalled by how bad mushroom soup can actually taste and this soup definitely takes the cake. Not sure if the chef used to work in a Chinese restaurant so he assumed that mushroom soup is meant to be the same texture as those found in Asian soup?
The next dish which came was the aglio e olio was linguine with garlic and some dried chilli and cherry tomatoes. Given the horrible start due to the mushroom soup, I would say that this dish is was slightly better than the soup. At least this dish looked presentable but once again the dish was bland and lacked the garlic aroma which is usually present in aglio e olio; the garlic is obviously undercooked. All I tasted was linguine in its raw form and a clump of oil which was really hard to digest. Even the addition of salt and pepper couldn’t salvage much of this situation.
Finally we also ordered the pizza quattro formaggi which was equally disappointing. At this point of time, I was expecting a dish which taste terrible and indded it wasn’t far off my expectation. As the name of the dish quattro formaggi suggest, I would expect 4 cheeses to be in it but all I could taste was 2 (most likely parmesan and cheddar). Honestly, it just felt like an overly priced pizza from pizza hut. In order to salvage the situation, we asked for some honey in order to pair it with the pizza. However the honey was some low quality overly sweet syrup which I wouldn’t even classify as honey.
In the end the food was so bad we decided to cancel our desserts in order to end ourselves from this ‘punishment’.
Overall, I will visit here again just for drinks since the environment is still pleasant but I will never ever come here for the food since it is not only overly priced but terrible in taste
I hope that reviewers who claim that the food served here is authentic and delicious would consider visiting more Italian restaurants
