3 weeks agoI would like to submit a complaint regarding my check in this OYO. The staff at this OYO is really dissapointed me which that person did not welcome me. I showed my check in number at the staffs and one of the staff ask me “Binatang apa ni?”, without look at my phone. And then I said “Huh?” because I am so speechless to be treated like this. I said “Huh?” for 3 times as if the staff would change the question. But no, the staff still asking the same thing “Binatang apa ni?”. I told him that he is being rude to me and I told him that this is the check in number that i showed to him. I told him again to talk to me nicely as I couldn’t tolerate with with his rude behavior. He then ask me “Tak faham bahasa penang ke?”. What is this? It is not a great experience for me as this is my first time check in at OYO.8 months agoVery clean, and comfort place to stay. they also provide a prayer room for muslim guest to do their solat.2 years agoThe hotel room is not clean and very dusty. I have booked for twin room, however the staff who can’t speak well in English nor Malay gave me queen bed. Even worse, the sink was clogged and bad drainage in the bathroom. Slippery bathroom. The room is totally different from the shown picture (although I am aware there will be slightly different from display pictures). Not recommended.a year agoCheap and value for money. a month agoI discovered at least 4 cockroaches in the toilet and on the bed. Room was not clean or comfortable. The price is reasonable but I think people should choose other, cleaner places to stay.a year agoThe room was very dirty. There aren’t any windows in the room. Therefore there aren’t any ventilation. The mattresses and the pillows haven’t been cleaned for a long long time. They have just covered the mattresses with the “washed mattress covers” and pillows with the “washed pillow covers”. SO MANY BED BUGS IN THE MATTRESSES AND IN THE PILLOWS. The walls were very very dirty. The walls have been painted with oil paint. Therefore it is very very easy to clean the walls. But the walls hadn’t been cleaned for ages.The toilets and the showers are OK. But the walls in the toilets and the shower area had been broken. The toilets and the showers were very narrow. The drainages in the toilets and the shower areas were very dirty.
ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS ACCOMMODATION WAS THERE ARE SO MANY RESTAURANTS SHOPS AND AMENITIES NEARBY.
a year agoThe reason for my review: The location is really good and the owners are friendly. BUT the rooms are small and very dirty. There is brown stains on all the walls and clearly haven’t been washed for a long time. And the smell in the room isn’t normal… The I don’t even wanna start on the hygiene on the toilets… If you don’t mind living dirty this is a great place for you4 years agoIf you’re thinking of a budget place for accommodation, this is a good choice. Rooms are cool with aircon, and are generally quiet, too. My family and I were given the room facing a road junction, but noise was not a problem.They have their own restaurant downstairs, and if that does not satisfy you, there is another restaurant just across the street. There is a 7-Eleven across the street as well, although I don’t think the presence of 7-Eleven is not as prominent in Malaysia as it is in Thailand.
Staff is friendly and welcoming. Wifi is acceptable, but unreliable at times. Bathrooms are decently clean, but you may have to have your own toiletries. A good stay for a few nights.
7 years agoThe room is comfortable. Toilet is clean. Host is friendly. Price also affordable. The only concern i have is this motel should at least provide soap in the bathroom. The cheap one will do. But overall, yes i will recommend this place to my friends.

Really good. Everything cleaned. The location was a little bit away but it does worth it! The receptionist who gave me the welcome was really nice and he gave me a lot of tips for my trip here since the beginning. Really nice!
The hotel itself is clean and fine. The 1 star is for charging 50RM for stolen room key without providing the cost/transparency upfront.
Was only told the room card cost 50RM after it was stolen by someone.
This is one of the best value hotel I ever stayed.
The staff will explain everything including the switches in the capsules, lockers, water dispenser and house rules.
The hotel knows that nowadays people have more than 1 gadget to charge at night so provides a multi-purpose plug for its guests.
The hotel is very clean.
Staff are very helpful, give tips on where to eat, take public transport, change money etc.
It is located less than 4 min walk from Sungai Nibong Bus Terminal where many express and local buses stop. So even with heavy luggage, one should have no problem walking there from the bus terminal.
There is a food centre just below the hotel, where many local delights are sold, the price of food is not the cheapest in Penang but definitely not unreasonable.
Great for solo travel. I think I’ll not go to any other hotel if I were to travel solo again to Penang.
Kudos to Ah Liang, a young Chinese guy, he helped to solve my mobile phone problem.
The place and capsules are really clean and comfy. I enjoyed staying for one night. It’s affordable and ideal for a short visit to the island, suitable for two or three nights of budget-friendly sleep.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mr Chong, the person in-charge of front desk & reservation in particular for his help to cancel my booking via booking.com. Without his efforts & cooperation, I won’t be able to get my refund successfully as booking.com insistent on rejected my claims for twice.
Mr Chong is undoubtedly sporting and helpful regardless my cancellation of the booking room due to my personal reasons. I actually didn’t expect to get such warm hospitality from him and his assistant, a young man(Ah Liang?) as well after I had made the decision to cancel my booking. Honestly, I was really impressed of the excellent service they had provided to me.
It is definitely an unforgettable experience to meet such nice people even though I just dropped in the hotel for a short while.
