Really emotional exhibits! Entry price is $1. There are numerous display cases of actual clothing, weapons and accessories used during the war. Rare videos taken by media are played on loop throughout the museum showing actual footage of the fighting. There is a replica of an underground bunker used by one of the famed fighters who actually died from his own living conditions. It’s so much larger and more detailed than I had imagined. I highly recommend it. No photography allowed inside the exhibits.

A must-visit place to understand the modern history of Timor-Leste. Sad to know they were invaded again on the brink independence 50 years ago.

Was interested as a historian in the archives. As you would expect in a new country, the archives are electronic rather than documental and are well organised. The Resistance Museum is very well presented and succeeds well in presenting the story of the resistance struggle.

The end of the world, the most remote country in Southeast Asia, and one of the youngest countries in the world – Timor-Leste. Only Bali, Singapore, Darwin, Gubang, 4 international routes. In the fourth quarter of each year, the whale migration season has the best whale watching opportunities in the world, the most whale species to see, and there are many critically endangered rare beaked whales, blue whales, etc

Having already been to the Resistance and Archives Museum (which was fabulous but overwhelming) I had low expectations of Chega! BUT I found it to be one of the most worthwhile things I have done in Dili. It lays out very clearly the sequence of events from the 1970’s till now focusing on the Timorese people and not too much of the behind the scenes action of the international community and governments. You get a deeper understanding of how the Timorese were living their lives. The

Interesting place. However at the reception the host asked for 5$/p. We knew the price should be 1$/p.
