The qulity of dim sum is no more there. Fat, oily food, just average taste. Price on the high range, not matching quality

Traditional Chinese Kopitiam, lots of variety of food good to eat. Recommended their herbal tea, slightly bitter and not so sweet.

Local food taste not bad. We not manage to try the handmade noodle (sold out) and it’s just 10am. Then we order bihun. The taste is good. The wanton noodle and jawa noodle so so only, not so special, more on childhood taste. The best is the roti bakar, must order. Food: 3.5 stars Environment : 3 stars Value for money: 4 stars Worth to try: 4 stars

Normal coffee shop. The Lam Mee is over rated, taste below average. Food at other stalls are average only.

5 Replies to The 7 Best Chinese Restaurant in Sungai Petani

  1. Good dishes, reasonable prices. Food taste remains the same throughout many years. Total of 7 dishes, with mostly meat based dishes, cost RM92. Highly recommend. Not forget to mention the stall outside selling cendol and candy ice.

  2. Non halal chinese traditional restaurant. Nice food here with affordable price. They serve steam rice. The curry prawn or sambal chilli shrimp and squid is very nice. The prawn cook just nice, and not overcooked. The bitter gourd egg also nicely cook.
Missed the cha siu as was sold out that day. Wish to try it again.
Also missed the chance to try their soup.

  3. Serve good “old taste / kochabi” kind of dishes. Parking is a bit hard to find as it is located at Jalan Dewa. Can be kind of hot at noon.

  4. Glory days don’t last forever. This place used to be famous. But after new generation took over the business, they used foreign workers to cook. Price increased significantly , food portion & quality no longer as good as before.

  5. I really thought this was a gem when I found this place! Simple home cooked dishes that taste wonderful!
We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. Will definitely come back again to try the other dishes.
