Odd name for a cafe but it’s a good place for breakfast and lunch. We sat upstairs and it was difficult getting help as no staff was around. The highlight is the food which is visually pleasing and delicious, especially the Turkish eggs and the sourdough bread. The coffee is great. The interior is simple and airy with a relaxing atmosphere.

This is an amazing place. It is a celebration of creativity, tough work and fine sense of quality. The atmosphere is so cool and inspiring. You will feel good even having coffee. But try their sourdough bread with avocado and sunny side egg. They offer filter coffee for the experts.

It’s probably the higher expectations I have as it comes out as best brunch list in KL. The staffs are nice enough.

First, There’s a service charge and I’d expect the service will be provided. They should invest in electronic order taking at the table instead of letting the customer queueing in the long line for order. The prices were almost similar to Singapore’s. Secondly, the ambiance/vibe should be more defined/decorated. There’s a lovely outdoor area but we can’t sit there due to cooking smell from surrounding.

Several good points: the coffee is amazing and smells great. The food was delicious too.

The food options and taste were good. The coffee variety was ok, the pour over coffee was probably the star and rightly so as a coffee roaster. The mocha which is always my personal favourite at any coffee shop I go was average at best with the sweetness being too strong and overpowering the actual coffee chocolate mix.

The food was good and what you’d expect from a coffee shop with good ingridients and taste.

The service was OK at best with nothing outstanding or impressive. The location is nice but wouldn’t say super comfortable if you’re looking to work for a while (although I did see some people working). Overall a solid cafe and would return if in the the city again.

Awesome coffee and great atmosphere. Equal to some of the great Melbourne cafes I’ve been to. I had a short black which was delicious, a cold brew which was sweet and flavourful and then on another trip the fermented lemonade which had a delicious tang to it. Highly recommended if you like your coffee. Vibe is excellent.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. They didn’t overcrowd the space with too many tables so the atmosphere was rather relaxing and open. Coffee was good, there’s a one for one promotion. Had their egg and sourdough, mushrooms were a tad too salty but overall food is good!

Had a lovely brunch here yesterday. I appreciate how hospitable and attentive they were to all customers.

I ordered Soul Lab and Teriyaki Prawn with Tomato Confit Sourdough.

The food was, hmm… how do I put this? Decent? Now don’t get me wrong. The prawn, the scrambled eggs, and the sourdough bread were very tasty separately. But not so much together.

The middle part of the bread turned too soggy, soaked by the topping that it felt like chewing a seasoned wet tissue. It wasn’t that bad, really. It’s just that I’m sure they can do better.

The drink (Soul Lab) on the other hand was outstanding! I got lost while finding this cafe and was drained when I finally got there. But Soul Lab zapped me up with the caffeine kick and especially with the delightful taste!

I enjoy specialty coffee, and I’m so happy to have found this place that seem to serve quite an array of coffee experience. So, I’m looking forward to come back in the future to try their other coffee experiences and experiments.

Oh, and lastly, their toilets are clean, too. I’m wearing clear aligners (orthodontic purpose) and I often need to use the restroom to rinse the trays and pop them back in without disgusting the other dine-in customers. So I’m always happy when restaurants or cafes keep their toilet clean.

I recently visited The Backroom Coffee, and I must say, it’s a cozy haven for coffee enthusiasts and those seeking a serene workspace. The minimalistic ambiance provides the perfect backdrop for friendly conversations or focused laptop work.

During my visit, I tried the Soul Lab and Honey Earl Grey beverages, and they were nothing short of outstanding. The combination of fuji apple and coconut in the Soul Lab was a delightful explosion of flavors. The Honey Earl Grey tart was a light and enjoyable treat, with its delectable cream topping stealing the show. A true gem for coffee lovers and those in search of a tranquil spot to unwind. ?☕️??❤️

Stumbled upon the menu first and thought the food looks interesting before venturing up to the restaurant. Place is quite ‘hidden’ as you need to trek up the stairs to reach the restaurant and you will wonder if you are at the right place. The food is good though, had the prawn salsa rice bowl and although it’s on the pricier side, the portions were good. Had 8 large and really fresh prawns in my bowl and a perfect onsen egg. My colleague had their teriyaki prawn sourdough which did not disappoint either. Will recommend!

I was pleasantly surprised by the mixology style coffee and tea creations here. The Soul Lab layers espresso on top of cold brew oolong and Fuji apple juice. It was skillfully crafted and delicious

I also had the pasta dish called Shrimp Aglio Olio. It was also high quality and I appreciate the spice note. It references Italy while maintaining a local identity

The decor is unique. Orders must be placed at the counter, which I found slightly inconvenient, but worth it. I’ll surely be back soon
