Today I received my retirement visa and multiple entry permit. Over the last few months my Thai wife and I had Michael and his staff help us with a pre nuptial agreement and all the requirements for getting married to a Thai lady (I’m an American). His staff accompanied us every step of the way. He and his amazing staff were instrumental in accomplishing the goals we set when we first contacted them.If I have any further needs for legal help I know I can trust,I won’t hesitate to contact them.

Thanks Michael and Pei for their help!

We used their services for company registration + work permit.

Everything was smooth. Michael was very helpful and took time to understand our needs. He was great at explaining what was necessary, what wasn’t, and for what reasons.

Khun Pei was the one dealing with the paperwork and was great at communicating with us and giving us deadlines.

It took us around 3 months to get everything done but we could have done if faster if I had prepared every document before starting. There are always some delays when processing paperwork with banks, landlord, etc, so make sure that you have plan ahead of time.

TILA Legal is not the cheapest you can find, but it’s far from being the most expensive, and I think it’s good value for money.

I would recommend their services, especially for small to medium size businesses like ours.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in Thailand have several but not all of the same rights as non-LGBT people. Both male and female same-sex sexual activity are legal in Thailand, and same-sex marriage rights within the nation are pending legalisation. About eight percent of the Thai population, five million people, are thought to be in the LGBT demographic. In 2013, the Bangkok Post said that "while Thailand is viewed as a tourist haven for same-sex couples, the reality for locals is that the law, and often public sentiment, is not so liberal." A 2014 report by the United States Agency for International Development and the United Nations Development Programme said that LGBT people "still face discrimination affecting their social rights and job opportunities", and "face difficulty gaining acceptance for non-traditional sexuality, even though the tourism authority has been promoting Thailand as a gay-friendly country".Changes in attitudes and public policy towards LGBT issues began to occur in Thailand during the 1990s and, in particular, the early part of the 21st century. In 2015, Thailand enacted a comprehensive anti-discrimination law, which covered sexual orientation and gender identity. In 2022, a group of bills were introduced in the Thai parliament that would have granted either civil partnerships or full marriage for same-sex couples, but did not reach their final readings before parliament was dissolved for the 2023 elections and consequently lapsed. In November 2023, the Srettha Thavisin-led Cabinet approved a draft same-sex marriage bill, which was considered by Parliament on 21 December 2023 along with three similar drafts proposed by opposition parties and the civil sector. All four passed overwhelmingly and will be combined into one pending further readings.
Thailand would become the first Asian UN member country to legalize same-sex marriage via a comprehensive same-sex marriage law.
In 2017, Bangkok was named the second-most gay-friendly city in Asia by online housing platform Netspick, after Tel Aviv, Israel, due to its LGBT dating scene, nightlife, openness and safety. The Tourism Authority of Thailand has launched a global project entitled "Go Thai Be Free", to encourage LGBTQ+ tourists from around the world and raise its international profile as an LGBTQ+ friendly country.

The Biggest Corporate Lawyer in Thailand

Corporate lawyers play a critical role in advising businesses on legal matters, including contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and compliance issues. In Bangkok, there are several alternatives that are also highly sought after by businesses in need of legal expertise. Here are three top corporate lawyer alternatives in Bangkok:

  • Law Firm with Corporate Law Practice: Many law firms in Bangkok have dedicated teams specializing in corporate law. These law firms provide comprehensive services to businesses of all sizes, ranging from startups to multinational corporations. They offer a wide range of legal services, including contract drafting and negotiation, due diligence, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. Engaging a law firm with a corporate law practice allows businesses to benefit from the expertise of multiple lawyers and access a broad spectrum of legal knowledge and experience.
  • Boutique Corporate Law Firm: Boutique law firms focusing solely on corporate law have also gained popularity in Bangkok. These firms specialize in providing specialized and tailored legal services solely in the field of corporate law. As they are focused exclusively on corporate matters, they usually have a deep understanding of the intricacies of corporate law and can provide highly targeted advice and solutions. Boutique corporate law firms are often preferred by businesses seeking personalized attention and specialized expertise in corporate legal matters.
  • In-House Corporate Lawyers: Many large businesses in Bangkok choose to have in-house corporate lawyers as part of their team. These are lawyers who are directly employed by the company and work exclusively for the company’s legal needs. In-house corporate lawyers are well-versed in the specific needs and operations of the company, allowing for seamless integration into the organization’s decision-making processes. Having an in-house corporate lawyer ensures immediate accessibility to legal advice and assistance, streamlines communication, and potentially reduces costs over the long term.
