Can be better if all machines providing e wallet payment option.

As of when I used it, only 1 out of 4 dryers and 2 out of 4 washing machines can accept e wallet. Dec 2023.

But overall quite a robust system. Fees are including detergent

I don’t know if this is a self service laundry or they are running commercial laundromat catering the nearby hotel? Upon arriving, the shop is full with baskets of dirty sheets from nearby hotel as if they are running a commercial laundromat. It’s not a scene that you will normally find from any other self service laundry shop. 2 out of the 4 washers were occupied and all 4 of the dryer were occupied by this “commercial business of hotel laundry”. Upon close inspection, we find it somewhat dubious because laundered sheets are folded and placed at a table that were not disinfected, folded by workers who didn’t wash their hands after eating at a table in laundry shop (yes there are workers here who were eating in the same shop). Unfortunate for me and my husband when we were here, there was an old man who was coordinating the “commercial large scale laundry” was asking me and my husband (because he said we are locals) help to communicate to a group of foreign students who are trying to do their laundry to ask them to not occupy all the washers as he needs all them to wash the load from their hotel business. I told the old man, “please communicate to them directly as we are not the operator of this shop and we are the customers, it is not our obligation to speak to them” and he was in a foul mood and replied to me and my husband ” they are Vietnamese and speaks English, there are 4 of them, if each of the use 1 of the washer then I can’t do my laundry!”. The whole incident left a bitter aftertaste as I find it the behaviour unprofessional and as a Malaysian find it so distasteful.

I went in to the massage parlour who I believe own by the same owner or operator and feedbacked the whole incident and the person at the reception didn’t even apologise but just smile sheepishly. I suggest to the owner to check your cctv and watch your recording and listen to the conversation if you want to find a way to improve.

If you don’t want to do retail business, please close the shop and operate a commercial laundromat instead.

Reply to owner after their reply: And please if you only use this “24 hour self serviced” to do your hotel cleaning sheets business from 9am – 6pm and your only professional reply is to come after 6pm then please change this to a “12 hour self serviced only welcome customers from 6pm -6am daily” as putting 24 hours is misleading.

Excellent self-service laundry. Came here numerous times. The machines and place are always clean. The place has fan so it won’t be too hot if you are waiting for your laundry here. No staff here but the instructions are very clear.

Machines are easy to use. There are 4 washing machines (two 10kgs machines and two 14kgs machines) & 4 drying machines. I never had to queque (usually come on the evening). There are always machine(s) available.

For first-timer, just go through the main entrance (the one betweeen Sushi House and Love a Loaf. Take the stairs and escalator besides Heritage House. Turn right. You will see the Polar Bear logo. It will cost around RM 16-19 for washing & drying, depending of the water temperature you choose.

How to? > Washing 1. Insert money to the Token Changer (RM 1 / 5 / 10) and you will get the Polar Bear tokens. Remember, you won’t get any change money so prepare exact amount of money 2. Put the clothes inside the washing machine, choose the water temperature. 3. Insert tokens needed. The detergent, sanitizer and softener are injected automatically to the machine so you just need to chill and wait for 25 mins > Drying 1. Move the wet clothes from Washing Machine to Drying machine 2. Select drying temperature 3. Insert tokens needed. Wait for another 25 mins. 4. You can get additional 5mins for RM 1, but you have to do it before the drying finished

The washing and drying went well.

Problem we had was with the coin machine. Inserted a 5 rm bill, the machine took it and decided not to give any coins. Contacted the owner via whatsapp about this problem but they are yet to reply. Would advise to only insert 1 rm bills to avoid your money being taken.

Came here to run a load of laundry and had no problems. The detergent is already included. The cycle takes 25 mins. Change your cash to get RM1 coins. 1 token = RM1.

Easy to follow instructions for both washing and drying. I love that they provide complementary detergent in the wash. The place is clean as you’re asked to take off shoes. My only comment is that the washing machines should probably be cleaned daily (the rubber parts).

STAY AWAY AND MUST BE AVOIDED AT ALL COST!!!

    1. The reviews below says it is very clean, but partially. The machines are somewhat clean, but floor is dirty like the street outside. Lots of dirt on their floor.

    2. You need to take off your shoes. The owner even yelled at us.

    3. VERY EXPENSIVE. 8RM for a wash!!!!

    4. Dryer looks very cheap 1RM for 6 minutes. Yeah, but it cheats you with minutes – the countdown is very fast. I measured the time and it cheats you 15-20 secs for every minute. I reported this to owner and he ignored me.

    5. Owner is extremely rude, he swept the floor while I was folding my new clean clothes so the dusts swirling around. So stupid he even turned the fans higher to help him pushing the dust out of his laundry service. After the cleaning he stopped the fans so it got so hot in the laundry service.

If you think this is ok, then go.

Top Laundry Service Alternatives in Penang

Laundry refers to the washing of clothing and other textiles, and, more broadly, their drying and ironing as well. Laundry has been part of history since humans began to wear clothes, so the methods by which different cultures have dealt with this universal human need are of interest to several branches of scholarship.
Laundry work has traditionally been highly gendered, with the responsibility in most cultures falling to women (formerly known as laundresses or washerwomen). The Industrial Revolution gradually led to mechanized solutions to laundry work, notably the washing machine and later the tumble dryer. Laundry, like cooking and child care, is still done both at home and by commercial establishments outside the home. The word "laundry" may refer to the clothing itself, or to the place where the cleaning happens. An individual home may have a laundry room; a utility room includes but is not restricted to the function of washing clothes. An apartment building or student hall of residence may have a shared laundry facility such as a tvättstuga. A stand-alone business is referred to as a self-service laundry (launderette in British English or laundromat in North American English).
