The 7 Biggest Museum in Phuket

Localbiz Cover

Stopped by the Phuket Thaihua Museum Located in central part of Old Town. Grounds are clean and well maintained.

Looks promising… No one was there other than the Receptionist.

200 baht entry fee ? There is an outside cafe serving drinks and snacks, but it was closed.

Request to Museum- maybe open the cafe (Thai tea or coffee) and include one beverage with entrance fee. You may get more visitors! ?

Entry fee of 200 Baht per person, located in Old Town. It is an old school with history of Chinese people in Phuket. The building gets really suffocating in the heat. There isn’t much to see and the interactive things barely work. Not really worth as it didn’t have a great amount of information and was overpriced and hot. You can skip this attraction if you wish

The museum itself is quite nice and good for photo shoots but I don’t think with Thailand weather it is worth because they didn’t turn on any fans or air conditioning which is make me really hot so that’s minus 1 and another things is ticket lady, she seem so angry all the time

Had some fun history of the postal service in Thailand. But the building itself is in need of repairs. Watch your footing as there are several places where the floor is giving in or tile is broken up. Unless you’re really a postal service enthusiast I’m not sure it’s worth your time. Also, know they close for lunch from 12-1pm.

I had a disappointing experience visiting this museum. The museum is quite small, and you can easily see everything inside in just 5 minutes. But the lack of proper cooling made it unbelievably hot inside. All I could think about was how to leave there faster. Also the staff didn’t seem friendly and showed no interest.

This is a great museum in a very cool historic building, with free admission! If you’re a stamp & postal service lover, especially, this is a fabulous place to visit with great Thai stamp art and an “olden days” post office recreation. The staff here are very kind and helpful, too.

Beautifully restored old Phuket post office building and now converted into a philatelic museum. The front area is a parking lot so it ruins the view of this historic structure so wish they can create an alternative parking space to keep the facade and area more pristine. The new post office is just right beside the building so pop by the museum if you’re doing any mailing or business with the post office in the island.

It is right next to the postal office. Entrance is free. You can buy some nice collector’s stamps here, there is no line. There are a bunch of exhibits here but no real stamps on display. Come here to buy local stamps instead of waiting on queue at the postal office.
