The accomadation is beautiful on the river front and very comfortable beds. The food was excellent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and all the staff were so kind. Mr Lay my guide really looked after me the whole time from start to finish. He was very friendly and kind.

Over all one of my best experiences travelling in my life time ? please trust the elephant’s are loved here. They only use voice comands, no hooks and no aggressive actions at all, I saw this first hand. This is a must do in Luang Probang ” Elephant Village” is amazing. They are not all equal here. Choose wisely

Joy! That is what happens when they pick you up to take you to the sanctuary. Our guide’s name. Might be Joi but not sure…and he fills your day with lots of it! That is him in the photo with his arms up! We learned elephant language, fed the giant majestic beasts and one swam with them in the river. We even got to feed their only baby. They pick you up, they feed you too and even throw in a little river trip to see waterfalls. I was so in awe. The mahouts, or keepers, are these little guys that know how to handle the huge, and I mean huge, animals with words. No mistreatment. Oh and we also learned a lot about elephant poo or dung. Yep that’s right. They have the Dung factory where they use the droppings to make actual items they sell. But go see for yourself! One of our most amazing days! Thanks to all who make it so.

I booked this tour on a day that it was pouring rain. It was me with another couple who left after 45min, so it was basically a private tour. Although the rain did not help, it was a great experience. The program of the day was not really clear to me. In the beginning we sat down with one of the caretakers and he told a somewhat unstructured story, hard to follow and not particularly interesting.. we came for the elephants and I wish we received some more background information about them. The feeding was great, unique experience. Then we got a small tour on the area, checking out how they make paper (?) and we saw the baby elephant in a more secluded area. I guess it is for the greater good, but it was not nice to see it chained and alone – I did not expect this. The swimming / bathing with the elephants in the river was the highlight of the tour and I would definitely recommend to add this to the booking. After that there was still time to swim in the pool and enjoy a hot, tasty lunch. All in all it was a unique experience, but I think it can get much better with a more structured and informative program.

    Busy, but not too busy. Nice grounds to walk around. Didn’t go into the Palace as told I needed to leave my shoulder bag in the locker room. So had a stroll around the gardens and the small car museum. Which was interesting. Plenty of seating outside to sit and relax.. great for people watching ?

    Pretty good. The museum was interesting, especially the paintings on the walls were impressive. Swing the gifts from other countries also makes you feel like you’re living part of the past when you explore them. Also the garage with a few models of king’s historical cars, given to him by the US government, was a nice touch and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The temple is also nice, but you’d find better ones in other places.

    Ok to see, but no pictures allowed inside for whatever reason. It would surely get more crowded and messy inside if everyone started taking pictures of themselves. Don’t understand why you have to cover up since it’s just a museum and not a holy place, but ok, was prepared for it thanks to the other reviews. Arrived around 9am and there were loads of Chinese tourists that must have just arrived. Once I got passed the big groups it was less crowded. Nothing spectacular to see, but still nice if you have the time.

    Very very strict rules before you can enter the area for visiting. The most annoyed thing here is that locker area is inside ballet room but the area to allow you to have ability to go visit Palace is far from locker. You must go back and forth.

    It’s a nice place and you can walk around a big area and see different buildings. A lot of people were there but it didn’t hinder our walk through. What I disliked was the rework of a lot of buildings.
