Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, is blessed with stunning beaches along its coastline. While there are numerous captivating beaches to explore, here are the five largest and most remarkable ones:

  • Ngapali Beach:

Situated in the Rakhine State, Ngapali Beach is often regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in Myanmar. With its pristine white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and swaying palm trees, it offers a picturesque setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. Ngapali Beach is also known for its vibrant marine life, making it a popular spot for snorkeling and scuba diving.

  • Chaung Tha Beach:

Located in the Ayeyarwady Region, Chaung Tha Beach is a popular beach destination for both locals and foreign tourists. The beach boasts a long stretch of golden sand and offers various water sports activities such as swimming, jet skiing, and parasailing. The nearby villages provide accommodation options ranging from simple guesthouses to luxurious resorts.

  • Ngwe Saung Beach:

Ngwe Saung Beach is situated in the Ayeyarwady Region, not far from Chaung Tha Beach. It is famous for its unspoiled natural beauty, with long stretches of white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush green surroundings. The beach is also known for its seafood restaurants and lively bars, making it a great place to enjoy fresh catches and stunning sunsets.

  • Kanthaya Beach:

Located in the Tanintharyi Region, Kanthaya Beach is a relatively unexplored gem. It offers a serene atmosphere and breathtaking views of the surrounding islands. The beach has soft white sand and clear waters, making it ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying water sports. Kanthaya Beach is also a great place to spot dolphins and sea turtles.

  • Maungmagan Beach:

Situated in the Rakhine State, Maungmagan Beach is known for its unique beauty. The beach features black sand due to its volcanic origins, contrasting with the clear blue waters. It offers a peaceful and secluded setting, perfect for those seeking tranquility and escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Maungmagan Beach is also home to ancient ruins and pagodas, adding historical significance to its natural beauty.

This is a well maintained beautiful garden in the centre of the city. As usual the crowd will be very less. The flowers, lawns and trees are all well maintained. I loved the line of pine trees. Couldn’t cover the whole garden in short time but this can be easily a 2-3 hours relaxing time spending activity if you have nothing much to do.

Most beautiful quiet park in Naypytaw with huge trees and many fountains none of which seemed to be working anymore. The highlight of our visit was seeing 4 very large dugouts on display, the largest of which was about 25m in length. Unfortunately none of the information was in English.

It is a great place with fresh new flower displays in place. Under a new private management, this place will have a lot more to offer. Go catch Flower Festival till end of March.
