This would be an interesting museum to visit if you are interested in Vietnam’s political history, with interesting lifelike exhibits and informative labels. There is an option for an audio guide at VND 100K, although I ultimately think it’s not necessary unless you are really into the prison’s history. Also, it would take quite a while to listen to every part of the guided tour, so we actually skipped quite a few sections.

Entrance is VND 30K, and there is also a really interesting souvenir shop selling things such as propaganda poster postcards.

Worth a visit!

A good, detailed and well represented museum that display the horrors of colonial occupation. Fascinating for those who are interested in history, with plenty of information throughout available in English, Vietnamese and French. Audioguides are also available.

The Temple of Literature is a cool place to visit. It’s peaceful and not too crowded. We did not get the audio tour but wished we would have in order to learn more than what you can read on the signs.
