I was there today, and it’s true I didn’t see it open however my five stars is to the women sitting nearby. She was very helpful and gave good exchange rate for my dollars to kip. So, my five stars are not to the Khamsy money exchange but to the woman sitting close by.

Same deal, there was a women wandering outside who was exchanging money for a great rate, seperate to the actual shop front. On the 26th of January, we got 22,000 KIP for 1 USD.

Don’t expect a booth. Theres a lady nearby that will approach you and ask if you want to exchange cash. As of 01/03/2024 the rate I was given was 21,500 kip per $1 USD which I thought was good since the online rate on Google stated only 20,500 kip per $1 USD. The lady was very friendly and I had no issue exchanging cash.

Apparently not operating any more. Was there on Oct. 14, 2023 at 2pm. Shutter is drawn and a handwritten notice “closed” is pasted on it. No further info as to when it may open again (if at all)
