Good for beginners and also regular hikers. There are many paths to take so would recommend getting the AllTrails app. Nice view at the top but do bring a cap and sunglasses as majority of the path to the second peak is open.

Can be a bit crowded during the weekends and you might have to park a bit far from the entrance. Recommend coming before sunrise for best parking, but do bring a light to hike.

Proper trails, clear signs. No issue if you’d like to do it solo even for a first-timer. Short trails is more steep while the long trail is more relaxed.

There are parking area available but you’ll have to come early. The parking fees is RM3 per entry.

Our first time going there to let kids see some wild boars but unfortunately didn’t. Saw monkeys swinging from trees to trees. There are a few ways going up, the hard (uses ropes to climb up, steep n slippery muddy steps) or the easy way (meaning no steep steps and of course need longer time). It will be better to ask those frequently there for direction. We were lucky that a couple brought us up to the peak. It was exhausting and, of course, poor knees. Quite a challenging experience.

Pleasant Hiking Experience at Ketumbar Hill

I recently had a wonderful time at Ketumbar Hill. It’s a great spot for people of all ages, including kids and the elderly. The highlight was the fantastic view of KLCC and Kuala Lumpur from the hilltop. The breeze up there was refreshing, making the whole experience even better.

The hill seems to be a popular spot for hikers, and I noticed many fellow enthusiasts during my visit. The trail features staircases and ropes at certain points, adding a touch of adventure to the hike.

What made this hike unique was the choice to take a different route on the way up and down. It allowed me to explore various paths and interact with fellow hikers along the way.

A highlight of the visit was the option to enjoy fresh fruits or fruit drinks at a fruit stall downstairs. It was a perfect way to unwind after the hike.

Overall, hiking at Ketumbar Hill was quite a challenge, and I couldn’t help but notice some rather large mosquitoes buzzing around. However, the stunning views and the camaraderie among fellow hikers made it all worthwhile. If you’re up for an enjoyable challenge and some scenic vistas, I highly recommend checking out Ketumbar Hill.

This trail is in Cheras, one of the hiking trails in town… There’re quite a number of hikers and you can hike even in late mornings as the forest is quite dense… However, getting parking will be a challenge… Except for the steep gradient at the beginning of the hike, it’s quite easy for experienced hikers… There’s a gym area at 300m

The hill gives you lots of false hope; there are hike down when in fact you still have not reached the peak and there are hike up when you are trying to get down. It has clear trail but missing trail markers, so if you go without a person that has been there before, you might go in a different direction than you intended to. There is a super big rock for rock climbing at the peak and it was amazing. On the way down, there is a community “gymnasium” with dumbbells, hula hoops, a monkey bar and a swing.

Expected to see babi hutan (as per other reviews), but suprisingly there was none? Sad that since this is their habitat, where did they go?
