2 months agoMonster Day Tours – Little India (Ms. Angel)The Little India walking tour is fascinating as Ms. Angel explains on how the culture of India and Singapore unites. It was curated properly even on its small details through the history, street art, religion, food, and much more.
The one thing that stands out to me is the generosity and consideration of the Monster Day Tours staff especially to Ms. Angel because they still let me in even though I was late at the meeting area. I saw their uniform where the starting point was and decided to catch up. I didn’t feel left out as a solo traveler so kudos to that!
7 months agoI’ve visited Singapore many times but have never explored Little India.I’m so pleased I did the tour with tour guide extraordinaire, Bernard!
Bernard set a high energy vibe from the moment we met and continued throughout the tour with interesting stories, cultural education and above all wit and humour.
I highly recommend Monster Day Tours, especially Bernard, and I’m thoroughly looking forward to doing a second Monster tour tomorrow.
in the last weekI went on the Little India tour with Just and the Chinatown tour with Bernard. Both tours/guides were excellent. Just and Bernard both provided lots of local insight, experience, and perspective, as well as lots of humor. They brought the sites to life and provided a deeper experience of Singapore with their personal stories. I highly recommend these tours to anyone visiting Singapore.6 months agoAmazing FREE activity in Singapore. Our guide Gene took us around little India and opened our eyes to its amazing culture, sights and food. Our guide went out of his way to make sure we saw every single part , stayed cool and comfortable and enjoyed it big bonus to our guidea year agoLovely experience from start to finish! Highly recommended. James is a very knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humour. Well curated route as well. Came away learning so much more about the southern islands than I ever could from textbooks. Nice simple dinner too.

Top Local Tour Guide Alternatives in Jakarta
Jakarta, the vibrant capital city of Indonesia, is known for its rich culture, exciting nightlife, and mouthwatering food. To make the most of your visit and to get an insight into the local culture, hiring a local tour guide is highly recommended. However, if you prefer to explore Jakarta on your own terms or are looking for alternatives to traditional tour guides, here are three popular options:
- Audio Guides: One of the easiest and self-paced ways to explore Jakarta is through audio guides. These are pre-recorded audio tours that can be downloaded onto your smartphone or rented from tourist information centers. They provide recorded information about specific attractions, neighborhoods, or historical sites as you explore at your own pace. Audio guides are convenient for those who prefer flexibility and the freedom to create their own itinerary.
- Virtual Tour Guides: With the advancement of technology, virtual tour guides have gained popularity in Jakarta. These digital guides offer virtual tours through smartphone applications or websites. They often provide interactive maps, 360-degree images, and detailed information about various attractions and landmarks. Virtual tour guides allow you to explore Jakarta from the comfort of your own home or enhance your sightseeing experience while on the ground.
- Local Travel Blogs: For independent travelers who enjoy doing research and planning their own itinerary, local travel blogs can be a great resource. Many Jakarta-based bloggers share their first-hand experiences, insider tips, and recommendations on exploring the city. These blogs often feature lesser-known attractions, local food spots, and off-the-beaten-path locations. Reading travel blogs can give you a deeper understanding of Jakarta’s unique culture and help you discover hidden gems that may not be covered by traditional tour guides.
Whether you choose an audio guide, virtual tour guide, or local travel blogs, each alternative provides a different approach to exploring Jakarta. They offer flexibility, convenience, and the opportunity to tailor your experience to your own interests and preferences. Regardless of the option you choose, Jakarta is guaranteed to captivate you with its bustling energy and cultural diversity.
