a week agoPlace was magnificent, if you like history about world war 2 its a great place to go, inside this museum they got all the things that happened in between Indonesia Vs our colonizers, mostly about what our patriots do against them in Yogyakarta city.2 months agoGreat place to learn Indonesian history during Dutch aggression after independence. The place offers a good collection of dioramas with some interactive games to learn more about the history. Tickets are cheap too only IDR 3000 for Indonesian and IDR 10000 for foreigners.a week agoNice story behind the port. In the Netherland we can call this place Vestingstad.a year agoThis place is amazing. Everything is clean and well maintained. The service at the reception was efficient, friendly and polite. The studio for documentaries was under maintenance when I went there. You could find an outdoor playground in front of the museum and it is very clean. Too bad the basins were mostly broken. I enjoyed my visit. I would love to visit other forts and museums around Jogja next time I visit.in the last weekBeautiful dioramas. Lots of students are visiting here. Descriptions are very dry and uninteresting, often they are just lists of names. A view into how these historical moments came to be would be nice. It’s hard to paint a picture of how life would have been for the people involved. A lot of these people have been dead for a long time, and just reading their name doesn’t do them justice. The more obscure dioramas need much more background information.

4 months agoThe Affandi Museum is a really nice place to visit when you’re in Yogyakarta if you like art. There are many superb canvas there. The entry price is a little bit high but you get a free drink, a free tote bag and a little traditional bag. The guides are top. There is 1 main gallery and 2 other rooms. I’ll recommend at least one hour of visit to enjoy the tour. It is not as much popular as some other places there but its defenitely worth it. There is also some souvenirs there, you can buy some unique tee shirt on an affordable price. You can also add a little 20k to the price to be able to take pictures.a week agoWent on a weekday. At one point I was the only person inside the museum. Worth visiting if you are in Yogyakarta2 months agoVery joyful experience! Visiting on saturday and not really crowded!
