Lovely little Korean restaurant. We probably ordered a bit more than we should have, but the food was delicious and we finished everything. Service was fast and friendly, no frills. Would definitely come back again.
I ordered the kimchi jjigae and haemul-pajeon, and both were delicious. Love that they use Korean tofu in the kimchi jjigae! (if I’m not mistaken, hehe). The meal came with 8 banchan, and I enjoyed all of them.
It’s a restaurant run by a mother and daughter, offering a range of Korean and Japanese-inspired dishes. I’m looking forward to coming back to try their mandu ?☺️.
The taste of food is at milder side and really depends on individual taste bud. Personally, I would prefer a bid stronger version. It looks like a family run like restaurant with only 2 staff that I saw in the shop from during my lunch visit. Anyhow, I must give credit to the waitress that is very attentive and polite. She offer to replenish side dishes which I said no. Lastly, serving me additional mini tomato which is super sweet and fresh. ?
Very friendly and authentic place opened by a Korean auntie. This sajangnim is very friendly and seems passionate about her food and restaurant. We chatted a bit and she told us about her past experiences making Korean food for decades in Malaysia.
The food comes with a huge array of tasty and homemade banchan. Their jjajangmyeon is tasty but is on the lighter side in terms of flavour, and same goes with their naengmyeon. The lady boss (sajangnim) explained that their food derives from a slightly different part than the typical ones(at other restaurants), hence the toned down and more neutral flavours. Overall, I find it equally as tasty and in fact even healthier.
We also bought perilla leaves (깻잎), kimchi and rice cake dessert (찰떡). All of them were nice since they were made in store fresh. Would recommend this place to others to try authentic Korean food.
To me the overall taste of the food is slightly below average. Some of the banchan was rather tasteless. Sodobujigae is too spicy and not tasty.
